TTU for 3Gun...?

I’ve been running a Wilson TTU for 3gun and am not sure what to think. It’s crisp. Great for CQB shooting, but not smooth for longer range shots. Anyone else running this? Should I change out for a Giessele?

Try a JP once!

Another vote for JP’s. They’re triggers, hammers and springs are in all my rifles. The “ol’ reliable” for 3-Gun is an 18" that Mike Voigt put together for me a LONG time ago. That trigger group has well over 120k on it and I changed the springs twice out of my own OCD, not out of necessity.

You JP trigger fans how often do you have to retune the trigger. I had one about 15 years ago and it started to double after 500 rounds or so and I had to send it in to be adjusted. It worked when it came back but I never trusted it again. The pull weight on JP’s are great but I like triggers than run for the long haul. I am a Geisselle fan. They have worked and worked for me. Never had one go bad.

15 years ago was a long time ago. Who knows what they do differently now. Mine has at least 5k on it and runs great.

Thus far my favorite trigger is the Geissele Super Dynamic 3gun trigger.

See my previous post. I dropped that trigger into a Colt H-Bar back in 1998, followed the instructions, including Loc-Titing the sear/trigger adjustment screws and haven’t touched them to this day. Again…other than 2 spring changes, that weren’t functionally necessary, just felt it was necessary by me and well over 120k rounds later, that JP trigger group is running just fine.

I’d say 13 years and 120k rounds of varmint, target and 3-Gun shooting qualifies as the long haul.

Both triggers are fantastic.
I have used both in Iraq and Afghanistan and I lean towards the JP as I can set it the way I need it for gloves and such.

Yeah. I bought the SSA-E two stage and thought better of it. I really like the single stage and read multiple reports of “jerking” issues with some 2-stage triggers. Probably more the shooter than the trigger. Ayway, when I go for a precision build, I’ll revisit the 2-stage question. For now, ill have to suffer with the TTU! :sarcastic:
