I comparing pics of the various Samson and Troy FF rails, it looks like they are basically the same.
Whats the difference between these?
The owners.
They are identical. From what I follow, Troy bought the design from Samson with stipulation that Samson not produce it. Samson held to the agreement initially, then reneged and sold it themselves causing a lawsuit. I don’t where the lawsuit went.
From what I understand Samson engineered them for Troy. They had a falling out and Samson kept the desing and started producing their own. I don’t know how accurate this is so If I’m incorrect I apologise in advance.

I believe the “Falling Out” was the fact that Troy owed them a bunch of money and either wouldn’t or couldn’t pay, so Samson ended the relationship and implemented some design improvements and started selling the “New & Improved” design as their own.
This applies to more than just the rails though, many of Samson’s products are just slightly different versions of what they made for Troy.
