Hey all, I have recently purchased an LE6920 which will be used as a patrol rifle. My only experience with quad rails has been with an ARMS #50c, which works great and is solid. My only complaints are that the lower handguards can become a bit unconfortable after a while during long periods use, I have ended up with blisters in the past from griping it. I dont like vertical grips, I guess because I wasnt trained with them. My other complaint is the weight, which the new #50m-cv fixes that at about 8.6 oz. My question is, to anyone that have seen and used both arms and the dd omega rail, which do they prefer? I like the fact that I dont have to mod my rifle with the dd, and I could throw some rail covers for comfort, but it leaves me to be a bit skeptical as to how sturdy it is with only 4 screws holding it in place? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I am also really concerned about weight, so a lite rail is crucial. thanx
I don’t have the numbers on the top of my head, but the DD rail should be lighter.
I say go with the DD rail. I’m sure many other members here would agree with my assessment.

The #50m-cv, doesnt raise your rail height and is 8.6 oz. dd omega is 8.0oz, so they are pretty close, I guess the tie braker here is wether the dd omega has just a sturdy mounting system as the arms. Any one out there actually use it as their patrol rifle? I am curious to see if it does well even after everyday use and abuse? Also can you mount the sling adaptor thing on the dd a bit forward, or is it only close to the barrel nut?

If you want something similar to the SIR system, go with the VLTOR CASV…
I have the Omega Rail on my soon-to-be patrol rifle and let me tell you, it’s solid as a rock. I don’t think you’ll have any problems with it. If you ever do have a problem, DD will take care of it.
The vltor thing looks heavy. Not really interested in something with lots of bells and wistles. Just want a fore-end that will free float, stand up to everyday patrol use and frequent courses, and of course needs to be lite. So far it seems like the dd omega 7.0 would do it. My department wont allow me to put a rail that requires barrel removal because they dont feel I am competent enough to properly torque a barrel so its gota be a drop in like the dd or the arms, were all it needs is a delta ring removal.
On a side note, whats the cheapest place I can find a DD omega 7 rail?
I have built up 2 duty rifles for guys I work with using the Omega rails and they are rock solid, and have held up without issue. I know a bunch of other coppers that run Omegas on their duty rifles with NO issues. The Omega rails have been out for a couple of years now, and I havent heard of any durability issues with them. Daniel Defense is also one of the best companies I have ever dealt with in-terms of customer service.

The vltor rails are VERY light. I had one on my last rifle. And eas on the hand if you dont want the rails.
I run the Vltor CASV-M on my rifle. I doubt there is a lighter free float rail system out there. I like that I can put the rails where I want them and leave them off where I don’t. I like the the whole bottom half can be removed by pinching two tabs and then pulling the rail down; no tools. I am putting another CASV-M on the next build I do, as soon as I finish my wife’s rifle.
Weighs less than a pound, or about the same as a 10" LaRue handguard…

And, it uses the factory delta ring. The most you will have to do is cut off the sling swivel…
Thats what I like about my arms s.i.r., putting rails were I need it, I dont l;ike however that the veltor raises the rail height were I would be putting my eotech. I want to make sure I am able to co-witness.
The VLTOR CASV-S (Stepped) has a bi-level rail that addresses your co-witness issue, however, it is designed for a midlength FSB.
Doesnt the SIR have a continuous top rail as well?
I’ve had an Omega 7" for over a year and a half on my primary work rifle. Between work, training and classes,I haven’t had any problems with it. It is very solid and durable. The sling swivel is machined into the rear and cannot be moved. Stay safe

My 6920 arrived last week and the DD 7" Omega will be the first item I order for it. I take that back I ordered a Ergo before the rifle ever got here. I have the Ergo on all my rifles. You can’t go wrong with the Omega, everything I have read is positive. It was between it and M.I. handguard, but for me the Omega was the winner. Good luck
