I’m an hour north of Tulsa. It’s certainly big news in this area.
The world doesn’t even seem real some days.
While I was a fan of the “boys” I am under no illusions as to who made a more significant contribution to the world. It’s a goddamn shame I had to actually look up who the Straits were. This kind of thing should get as much publicity as Trayvon Martin.

And the person arrested looks like a real winner.
Suspect: Tyrone Dale David Woodfork, 20, was arrested a day after the attack on complaints of first-degree murder, burglary, assault with a dangerous weapon and two complaints of armed robbery
A fitting punishment, would be to drop young Tyrone behind enemy lines in Afghanistan by parachute, and let him FIGHT his way back home, as Mr. Strait had once done. :mad:
Good thing OK is a no-nonsense sort of place, when it comes to dishing out the death penalty.

It speaks volumes as to the state of our nation when stories such as this go by and we have to hear the details from a UK newspaper instead of our own national media. Stories such as this one often are totally blacked out by the media. The DOJ will not pursue any “hate crime” in this case.
Yet we will be hearing about the poor little Trayvon Martin for years to come as the media continues their onslaught against Zimmerman and their projection of Martin as a sweet little boy instead of the gang-banging thug he was.
If this case sticks in your crawl then you need to read about the kidnapping, sexual torture, and murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom. Just another barbarous hate crime that was blacked out by the national media while the DOJ looked the other way. . .
The officer who was 1st on the scene is a friend of mine. Let’s just say that the media reports of what this savage did to Nancy Strait have been sanitized for the squeamish. There’s nothing in this life that can be done to him, that would make up for what he’s done. God will judge him now, we merely need to arrange the meeting. 
Not quite accurate. All of the North Texas and Oklahoma area papers ran this story prominently, along with follow-ups. As with so many things, local shops are always better than national, but to say this was a complete snowjob throughout the US Media is an exaggeration.

I disagree, Treyvon’s bullshit story ran in the mainstream media for weeks. The Strait’s story, I heard one blurb about it on fox, for one day. One stinking day! This is how I felt as I heard about what happened to the Strait’s:
I am beginning to loath; no fucking hate this country. That is coming from someone that has beaten the drum of U.S.A. religiously since I enlisted at 18. This is not the country that I fought for, I’m not even sure it’s even worth fighting for. It’s almost all but fallen in the hands of the enemy, I’d be willing to take it back when we rally to do so. But to give my life for it, right this moment, not as of yet. I’ll protect mine, you should protect yours. Somewhere along the line, we’ll meet and set things right.
That’s words I thought I’d never speak. As each day goes by I feel a little better, but not enough to make me feel much different. We live in sad times.
As I said, the story was in all the PAPERS. TV’s rapid-fire presentation and sensationalist nature makes it literally the worst way to get your news on the planet (with radio coming in 2nd for the same reasons), so if that’s the only vehicle you’re looking to, you’re missing a lot and not getting a sample representative of the entire newsmedia, “mainstream” or otherwise.
The Dallas Morning News, for example, did at least three major articles on this story, as well as continuing updates on their crime blog.
In the past few (I want to say 3 to 4) years, there have been two local cases where young men commited home invasions and elderly women were sexually assaulted. We’re talking about a midwestern town of approximately 120,000 citizens, with a relatively low crime rate.
This can’t be an isolated incident. There are evil people out there.
I have an older S&W Model 36 in my safe. I’m going to give it to my dad, after some training of course. Both my parents are retired. With Mom being on oxygen, I can see where some scum sucker would view my folks as being easy targets.
After reading stuff like this, I tend to really not like people.
Here is an update to the story on the families side. Mr. Strait’s survivors are giving away a host of the toys he built over the years to see that kids can enjoy his work the way he meant for it to be.
But hey, he has rights.
The only outrage you’ll probably see from Jackson, Sharpton, ACLU and the media is if the piece of shit that did this gets the death penalty. Then they’ll make out to be he’s the victim, how he came from a broken home, whatever and got screwed by The Man all his life. :rolleyes:
