I got my gas tube in the mail today and the time has come to assemble my build.
I tried a test fit with my YHM low pro gas block on to my CMT Tactical barrel and it is tight, very tight.
I put the block on and I got it this far without any undue force.
Now should I just put some lube on it and keep on wiggling it down? What do you think?
Tight is good, in so many ways…
Could not help it, sorry.
Wow, would not use force as GB may get stock part way.
No expert, but I would try some lube first. If it slides to final position, align and secure, with or without creating dimples for set screws, but you did not ask about that.
If no go, maybe heating GB and cooling barrel prior to assembly would solve problem without resorting to more drastic measures, such as lightly polishing inside of GB.
One thou clearance should be enough for assembly, but would bet all surfaces are not completely parallel, creating interference.
I was planning on lubing it up and assisting it slightly down. Then tightening the set screws. I figured tight would be good. I’ll try it when I get home.
