Donโt know if I would consider it the most important tool, but it is in my top 5.
I keep several sizes and colors around for all kinds of uses.
Have Sharpies made much of a dent in the machine shop market over Dykem, Prussian Blue, and similar products?
I donโt think my Pittsburgh digital calipers from HF are going to catch that.
Sharpie cannot replace Prussian Blue as it will not transfer from simple contact. And Sharpie will rub off easier than Dykem.
So, it will not replace them totally.
It would be nice to know the thickness range of Dykem marks. I have my eye on some micron indicators, but a Johansson mikrolator is a bit much for me.
