Here are some new Vltor EMod stock. “Enhanced Modstock”
It is similar in concept to the orignal Clubfoot Modstock with some cool enhancements.
It is a longer than the original stock, (which some perfer on precision AR15 set ups)
the rear pad (included) is secured via socket head cap screw
the rear pad is molded onto a aluminum strike plate
the checkweld/storage tubes are longer than the original Modstock
has an additional battery storage compartment
Here are some quick snap shots I took in the shop.
some Vltor photos
It will come in black, FDE, and Foliage Green
(both milspec and commercial versions)
They will retail at $125.95 each.
These stocks should be shipping to your favorate Vltor dealer right now.
Right above the battery storage box is a connector for a Uncle Mikes type push button QD swivel. We carry the swivels that Vltor makes (made in the USA, black oxide stainless) and the highest quality you can get.
Thanks for the heads up and thanks for the excellent comparison pics!!! Looks like Eric incorporated some excellent features in the new stock, I predict that it will be a hit!!!
Am I missing something here? I understand that they made it longer and added another battery compartment, and I understand that those two things might be important to some people, but it seems like developing something like this would cost a whole lot of money for something that may only be incrementally better that their current offering and only appeal to either very specific buyers or the “me-too” crowd.
Now, if they offer a similar buttpad for their regular stocks ala the CTR buttpad so I can get rid of these stupid slip-ons, somebody call me.
Another question, will the green be more of a Magpul OD green or more of a 'light" Foliage Green? Just trying to decide what color I want prior to ordering one if I can find someone who has them in stock or accepting pre-orders.
that can be said of most other manufacturers as well (spending money on incremental improvements or very niche items).
the E-MOD wasn’t designed to replace the current carbine modstock - it was aimed more at the SPR market and Crane stock user crowd (which is a large market), who liked the longer LOP and rubber buttpad. you can run it all the way in if you shoot NTCH. if shooting from a bipod with the support hand holding the stock against the shoulder, the E-MOD clubfoot facilitates that much better than the Crane. the angle of the butt is also more comfortable than the crane. at $75 less than the crane, it’s a very attractive option.
+1. A similar butt pad for the regular Modstock would be great. I like mine as is, but a screw attached rubber butt pad would be a lot better than the slip-ones.
