Good on you for asking. I always make it a point to check the websites of states I travel through, or stay in.
And a very good point made by Claude Werner, aka The Tactical professor. Make sure you read the legal definitions of deadly force and when it can be applied. Some states like Georgia have a pretty simple legal definition and requirements. Other places like California - not so much.
In addition to the actual state website, I find this site to be a good resource with concise summaries of the laws/regs in pdf format. They seem to do a good job keeping everything up to date as well.
There’s also a CCW app that tracks all the state laws. I think they may be affiliated with handgunlaw.us, but I’m not sure. My phone is in the other room
