I was wondering if any of you out there had ordered some of there gear during there “Black Friday” Sale. I ordered mine on 11-29-09, and still haven’t seen them yet. Called them a couple of days ago and they said 4-6 more weeks. I have some of their other gear and its great. But their service sucks. When you call and ask if they know when the items should arrive, they get an attitude. Like we are the best, you just have to wait, we are worth it. They First blamed the hold up on too many orders, not enough stock made, then they told me there computer system is being updated and they are doing inventory. I am sorry to rant and rave but I just had to vent. I would rather not get a sale price on something and wait forever. I need these for work. Maybe I should go with another company.![]()
I’ve been a fan of TAG for a long time. Most of my gear is from them. They’re plate carriers are the best. They do take forever to send mail orders. I’m with you on that one. I ordered a double M16 mag shingle a few months back from the web site and it took them like 2 months to deliver. It’s actually pretty ridiculous. They’re gear is some of the best around though. Luckily the local gear queer shop right outside base when I was stationed at Camp Lejeune sold TAG gear. So I could just get most of what I needed there. What I also really like about them is that while they are a bit on the expensive side, whenever they have a sale the gear you buy practically pays for itself. 40, 50, and 60 percent off most of the time.
They make an excellent product. I agree that the wait times are sometimes annoying but the sales they have more than make up for that. If you need something immediately, probably not going to be the fastest choice but if you can wait–they make a very high quality product that is worth the extra time.
I have pretty much one of everything they make in several color options. That’s the strongest endorsement I can give a product.
I’m in the same boat as you man. Ordered back in November, got a notice that my order will be 4-6 weeks late. The prices were too damn low to pass up and the quality is top notch like TT or Eagle…but theres a catch to everything.
I do own the Gladiator chest rig, I have beaten the crap out of it and it is still going strong.
I am glad I am not the only one in this boat. I chose TAG because I looked at some examples of their products in a surplus store (they didn’t have the color I needed in stock). I was really excited about the 55% off, however the $15.45 shipping I thought was too high. I think they should wave the shipping or throw in a t-shirt or something for our wait…What do ya’ll think?![]()
They waived shipping on my last order. I don’t know what the time threshold is or if it was just because I’ve been a strong repeat customer over the years.
Im just about to cancel my order… I hate when this goes down like this… I mean we all ordered in November and it almost mid January… C’mon!

wow. you ordered back in november? I don’t think I’ve seen it that slow. That’s ridiculous. Are you deploying soon or something like that?
You said it boss man! They should throw in a fuckin’ T-shirt!!
Haven’t bought anything from them in the past 12 months but prior to that I got several pouches and mag holders directly from them and a TAG rifle bag via 3d party 50% off sans padded sleeve for the strap. I called TAG told them how I purchased the bag brand new but it didn’t have the pad, they sent me 2 free.
Shipping back then wasn’t bad. I think they are a fairly compact company. High quality & great customer service. Their sales are awesome. I’m sure high demand plays a role in the shipping during the sales.
Hook 'em!
6-8 weeks can be a normal cycle for them. I’d call and ask when they expect production and delivery. Here are two points of contact that I’ve had in the past 6 months (they were both very nice and very helpful):
Julie Kammerer
Phone: 619-565-2228
Fax: 619-565-2227
julie@tacticalassaultgear.com
Sofia Pietrogiovanna
Phone: 619- 565-2200 Ext: 320
Fax: 619-628-0126
sofi@tacticalassaultgear.com
Julie was the one I spoke with, she wasn’t very friendly. She acted as though I should not call them and bother them about it. My last phone conversation I had with Julie I mentioned with the delay I should be reimbursed for shipping or receive a hat or shirt to sweeten the wait, she quickly said “I don’t know about that, you just have wait till we can make enough of them and ship.” Not very good PR. I left Jennifer a voice mail and she never called me back. However I got a email from her shortly (AS IN THREE DAYS LATER, WHEN I CALLED AND TALKED TO JULIE) giving me the running around. Yes it was November when I ordered mine too. They kept saying we don’t know when, our computers are down…new system being installed. I’ll be too old to be in the fight by the time I get them. I hope they realize that yes they make a great product, however with crappy times, and not being able to give a time line of delivery, people will go to other companies for products. At this rate the lifetime replacement plan won’t mean much when they are out of business because of this crap! I wonder if they realize how many people read these forums and don’t post. I know I read a lot of forums before I purchase gear and it does influence my purchases. The saddest part of this is in the past I have called twice and spoke with Chris Osman, the owner when I had a question about a product or its function. Super nice guy, its nice to call and the owner pick up the phone. I wonder if he knows about this crap…
Iron,
Not sure if you caught Julie on a bad day or something. My only interaction with her was positive. Sofi was very nice and extremely helpful and that is based on multiple interactions. I’ve had many of my orders back ordered and delayed, but I expect that based on the nature of their sales. I think most people wait until they see that 50% off email and then place large orders. Myself and the other guys I know who order from them all do this.
I can’t excuse them for a bad customer service experience, all I can say is give them a chance. I have the same issues with Eagle and Blackhawk so it seems to be a fairly common theme amongst the tactical gear providers in terms of backorders and follow up times.
If your in need of something immediately, check with skdtac or greygrouptraining and see what they have in stock. They usually ship quick with items they have on hand.
I placed my order on turkey day, for a hydration carrier, flex fit hat and patch. Talked to them this week and they said it would ship out first thing next week and I should expect it by the end of next week. Woot!
They’re Rampage plate carrier is the shit.

Love your setup!! Simple and look great!
Thanks boss man. Yeah it’s worked out great for me.
Dont get me wrong I really like there gear. I too ordered in the first week of November, I have called and talk to Julie and she was in a bad mood or something, not really friendly untill she relized its been 3 months since I ordered. She said I should have my stuff the begining of Febuary.
I have noticed ALL the prices have drop on their gear.
Sounds very similiar to my BDS order a year ago… But you get for what you pay for… And in this case, 50% off sounds like a great deal but that’s the nature of Black Friday deals…
Still no response and no ship date…guess i’ll call and piss them off again…they suck…
