during le training and idpa competition. i see the use of the various ‘tactical reloads’. during our leo qualification course we have a portion of fire involving a tactical magazine exchange. i am a firearms instructor but do not agree with this policy.
i do not see the validity of this in a self defense situation or in competition, unless it is a post event before holstering. i prefer to perform an emergency reload as i can do this faster and more efficiently. as for idpa, i am not the fastest but strive for accuracy.
what are your thoughts on the tactical reload? am i not thinking far enough? thank you for your time.
