InterMedia Outdoors New Productions Offer Fresh Approach,
Break Traditional Outdoor Programming Mold

New York, NY (September 29, 2008) InterMedia Outdoors, Inc. (IMO), the industry leader and largest provider of content targeted to American sportsmen, announced today the rollout of two new innovative shows—ARROW AFFLICTION and TACTICAL IMPACT—that take viewers beyond the traditional gear and how-to shows and capture a fresh and unique perspective on outdoor programming. These ground-breaking shows, which are produced by IMO’s television production unit, debut this week on The Sportsman Channel (TSC), Fox Sports Net South, Wild TV and Pursuit networks.

“Our traditional strength in television has been gear evaluation and how-to shows, which will continue to be the backbone of our programming line-up. However, as leaders in our industry, we aren’t afraid to try new things and explore programming from different perspectives. These shows break with the traditional model and take outdoor programming to a new and more engaging level,” said IMO’s Executive Vice President of Television and Digital Media Willy Burkhardt. “We believe these shows will strike a chord with our audience and attract new viewers.”

“We found that many gun shows were static and formulaic. With TACTICAL IMPACT, we have broken out of this mold and focused on powerful story-telling and high-end production values,” said Burkhardt. “Our hosts Larry Vickers, Kyle Defoor, and Jason Falla are three of the most highly regarded shooters and trainers around and they are central to bringing the show’s stories and tales to life.”

From clearing a house to repelling a mass attack, each episode of TACTICAL IMPACT will examine a real-life tactical problem and the arms, accessories and tactics needed to prevail. Unlike traditional shooting shows that focus on gun reviews, features and interviews, TACTICAL IMPACT and hosts Larry Vickers, Kyle Defoor, and Jason Falla look through the eyes of the guys who have been there to tell intriguing stories about the guns that have changed our world. The show airs Mondays at midnight., Thursdays at 11:30 a.m., and Saturdays at 10 p.m. on TSC. The show also runs on Fox Sports South, WILD TV, and Pursuit networks.

“We are covering things and telling stories that have never seen the light of day, and have never been discussed outside of combat marksmanship training classes,” said Vickers. “The stories, whose subjects range from law enforcement to military to civilian, are a unique blend of guns, tactics, and history lessons. This isn’t your traditional gun show.”

“On TACTICAL IMPACT, we look at the life of guns–the birth, changes, successes and failures of the weapon–and how historical events and tactics have shaped the gun’s evolution. Just as people evolve and grow through life’s trials and tribulations, so does a gun".

Now some of you guys can stop wondering why Larry had to cancel a few classes lately.

Larry is a TOP Tier guy who deserves all the success he can earn.

I just signed up for online broadcasts of the sportsmans channel ($4.95 a month) since I cant get the sportsman channel

Cool. Thanks for the headsup!

Looks like I might have to do this also.

Same here! At least on this site! :stuck_out_tongue:

I just signed up for the channel online also. I wish you could watch the show whenever you want. Looks like you have to watch it only at the air times… oh well im still looking forward to Larry and Aarons show

If you’re going to sign up for it online, you might want to drop the network an email to let them know specifically why you’re paying for a monthly subscription: that it’s because of Larry Vickers’ & Aaron Roberts’ new television show.

I just watched my first episode and it was awesome. A lot of suttle things like “squeeze pats” and the familiar “click” of the safety being re-engaged after firing and scanning in addition to explanations of the bigger picture. Some of the info was material you always hear Larry hammering home. Something is missing though…hmmm. Oh, of course! LAV doesn’t reference Jesus or dogs shitting razor blades! Just kidding Keep up the good work guys!

any idea how many episodes the show will run?

Interesting show. Way more entertaining than 99.9999% of crap on tv these days.

Should be interesting to see where it goes.

Hmmmm… anyone know if Time Warner Cable carries this network? I get the outdoor channel, but can’t find Sportsmans channel…:frowning:

BWAHAHAHAHA… yep, to say LAV has a way with words is a huge understatement.

I have Fox Sports South, but I don’t see any listings for this show. Rats.

I just saw the episode and I really liked it.

It’s interesting how you can see Mr. Vickers & Roberts warm up over the course of the show. They start out pretty cold & out of their element then quickly get into their respective grooves. (And that’s okay, they’re shooters first & foremost and you really get that throughout the show.)

It’s incredibly refreshing to see folks handling firearms who actually know what they’re doing without the need for being dramatic (Future Weapons anyone?).

While there were a few quirky parts (Which weapon would you like for Iwo Jima? M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, or…M14?), overall I thought it was VERY entertaining to watch. I would have liked if they could have devoted a little more time to each segment but with only a 30 minute time slot I suppose they’ve got to work with what’s available.

I think that this will be a real winner and is finally a real deal “gun show” for active “gun people”. If you have the means, I highly recommend it.

ETA: Free cookie to anyone who can identify the rail that Aaron was using…

You and me both bro:mad:

Fox Sports South on Dish Network lists the show as Tactical Edge. It comes on Friday and Saturday.

Where would one find this on Direct TV?

Strange. My local TV guide doesn’t show it at any time of Fox Sports South on either Fridays or Saturdays.

Same here. Much as I pay for Com(crap)cast every month and FSS doesn’t list it!

I bit for The Sportsman Channel online broadcast though; as a hunter, I like some of the other programs, too. Best thing you can get for $5 a month these days.
