Security at the synagogue attack dealt with the attacker old school. We know they like to call anyone with a gun “security” but I don’t know if that’s the case here. Regardless, that’s how synagogues, churches, etc protect their place or warship from the goblins. Apparently, the only one killed was he who should have:
"The suspect in Thursday’s active shooting at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Mich., is dead, according to federal and local law enforcement officials.
Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said a man drove a truck into the synagogue. Security officers “engaged with the suspect” and began firing at him. The vehicle then “breached the building” through the doors and drove down a hallway of the large building and stopped inside, where security confronted him.
Bouchard said a body was found inside the truck. While security “did engage the suspect with gunfire,” Bouchard said it’s unclear how the man died. The sheriff said, “Something ignited in the vehicle.” Thick, black smoke could be seen billowing from the building not long after."
The POS was stabbed to death by one of the students before he could kill anyone else. Oh, and this immigrant Islamist was imprisoned before for trying to provide support to ISIS
Since the Israel attack. The company i work for have been doing upgrades to a lot of synagogue’s. Mostly the older ones. We are doing emergency escapes incase of active shooters, bollard for the ones that are not raised. Its said that they have to destroy and demo some of the very nice sculpturers and brick work on these old buildings. But i see the need too.
I volunteer at my church for the security team. I really think there should be a some kind of “armory” location where anyone on the team can get to a rifle quickly. It has been talked about very loosely, but it seems the decision makers don’t want to push that idea. The problem with that kind of decision making is that it almost always ends up as a talking point like “we should have done this earlier, but didn’t”.
In my home synagogue in Israel it is set away from any other buildings, so I have an open killing zone that ranges from 400 meters to 700 meters. So I would make sure if I was not on duty over the week end I would take my M16 set up for mid range shooting, as it was a little easier to reach out than with my Colt Commando. So on the floor by my seat was my rifle on the bipod in plain view . I would say we have 4 to 8 rifles depending on who was away from home that week end.
Here in the USA, when going to synagogue I carry a PDW in the bag I carry my Jewish stuff . It is out of sight but accessible. The mission of the PDW is to give us a platform that is easier to shoot than a pistol but the down size is it comes in a pistol caliber. The PDW you can take with you beats the rifle that you have to leave at home.
Since I don’t go to church, I don’t know the answer can you carry a small duffel bag or back pack into the services at a church without everyone freaking out?
I went through this. Admittedly, I perceived that I was drifting toward mall ninja and deleted some posts here years ago.
The thing is this: Once you have an official security team, you are taking responsibility, and insurance was going to be a problem.
The approach that works for small and mid-sized (under 800-1000) is probably to have a group of guys that train together regularly. I’m reminded that our pastor (Army, Iraq) was clear that he was keeping a pistol in the pulpit regardless of what the board determined regarding a security team.
I probably could, but storing it somewhere would be the problem. I wouldn’t have it with me when I am on duty. The positions and areas of responsibility vary with the assignment. The best I can do now is keep it ready in my vehicle which isn’t that far away from one of the exits, and if the situation requires it, go get it. Not ideal, I know, but no other real options right now.
I think in Florida, they just changed some laws that make armed security easier for churches. I don’t know all the details, but saw something about it.
Surprised the commies in VA don’t charge him. I have to say though, awesome that he stabbed the motherfvcker to death! Kudos to that guy! If/when he gets commissioned he will be a legend in his command.
Yep, saw that. Naturalized too, from Iraq. Wonder if his citizenship will be revoked like it damn well should be? Since Iraq is, what, 75% Shia I’ll wager that’s his flavor. [not that it matters though with muzzy’s, they equally hate us]
So the marxist news is making the excuse for the dead terrorist that drove his car into the synagogue. Some of his family were killed in a bomb strike by Israel in the last few days, so his family was Hezbollah. So does that mean his terrorism of part of his DNA?
Now in the EU, we have a new Shi’ite terror groups that bombed 4 synagogues from Greece to Norway over the weekend, all empty buildings but still a sign of the problem the west has with importing shit.
