Am I correct in thinking these will only work in 4 positions on a VLTOR VIS? Top either way and left/right upward?

ok - just got this proto from jason (thank you for sending it out). tried it out on some different rails.
Fits: vltor casv, vltor VIS, KAC RAS, KAC URX, larue, DD lite, SCAR (yay!).
Caveat - this is without rail-mount front sights - rails only. i was checking clearance between the mount and the top rail (some side rails are narrower which brings the mount closer to the bore).
Doesn’t fit - PWS/Addax (oddball rail - pretty close/narrow).
Couldn’t try: LMT MRP (because of rail-mounted sight i didn’t want to take off)
Recommendations/observations:
- make this particular mount a rock-on mount so it doesn’t have to slide in from the front. it won’t slide past any rail-mounted front sights, but there’s a good chance that the body of the scout light will clear them. i could not determine compatibility of the scout light with various front sights as i could not mount the light (without removing the front sights).
- angle off the top of the mount above the two screws at 45° - this
will allow it to fit most rails. it’ll make it lighter and doesn’t
affect strength. it may also help it clear some rail mounted front
sights.
one of the reasons i was interested in this was to find a solution for a white light on the SCAR. the SCAR has a short rail and doesn’t lend itself to activating a light with the thumb unless you place the vertical grip further back. plus, offset mounts don’t work well on the side rails as most 1" light bodies won’t clear the sling loops. the scout body is slimmer, so i thought that it’d be a good candidate.
i wanted to mount a scout light at 10:30 (i’m a lefty) instead of sticking out at 9 on the side. so, i was glad that this mount works with the SCAR. i’ve routed the tape switch over to the right side where it’s velcro’d securely in place above the DBAL switch. using my right thumb, it’s not hard to activate either. the light is tucked in as close as it’ll go - any closer and the scout body won’t clear the front sling loop.
shot some pics below - yeah, it looks like a lot of crap on the front end of the SCAR. it all comes off, though

I just got my proto from Jason as well, didn’t have time to run it during MD Handgun 1 today on the SR-25 (lunch break) but it’s damn solid.
I’ll give a small review and photos of it as well. So far I’m impressed, that said I’m not fighting for rail space like MM, so my needs are slightly different. That said, this thing is awesome so far.

i also have a rifle-length URX that this will be perfect for. IMHO, these set ups (thumb activation using thumb-forward grip) work best on the longer fore ends.
