I’ve been wanting to try one of the quality, high-efficiency 3 prong flash hiders like the Surefire SF3P, but it’s fairly expensive. I just came across the Surefire 3P Eliminator, which at around $52 is about half the price. The SF3P is stainless; the 3P is bar stock. Would this be an issue if perma-attaching to a 14.5" barrel, in terms of gas erosion?
I don’t know that it will really matter. I think the main cost-saving is the myriad of QA/QC and machining steps saved because it is not a suppressor mount.
It’s not going inside a silencer, and it’s in a 14.5" gun. I’d have no reservations perming it, as long as your sure you want it there forever. A2s last long enough and iirc they are not stainless
