Sun Devil lowers...finish options?

looking at the sun devil website,
i find 4 finish options available.
however i am curious to know the specs on a few of them.

  1. satin black hard anodize- self explanatory a known quantity.

  2. satin colored anodize- listed colors, so no mystey there.

  3. black molycoat- is this a baked on coating over the black hard anodize
and how is it for hardness?

  4. devilcoat (nickel/teflon)- is this the functional equivalent of NP3 from robar?
and is it applied over the hard black anodize or in lieu of the anodize?

is the molycoat and the devilcoat primarily used for appearance changes , an increase in durability of the finish, or possibly lubrication ?

i am going to use a stripped lower to build on, any information about these finishes would be good to have. but i think the stripped is only available in black anodize from reading the website.

from what grant and others have mentioned, sun devil is worth a try.

now, who has them in stock?

This is Type III and the regular black and is good and hard.

  1. satin colored anodize- listed colors, so no mystey there.

This it Type II and is not as hard.

  1. black molycoat- is this a baked on coating over the black hard anodize and how is it for hardness?

Not as hard as anodizing and is doesn’t matter. Gives a pretty finish.

devilcoat (nickel/teflon)- is this the functional equivalent of NP3 from robar? and is it applied over the hard black anodize or in lieu of the anodize?

This is applied instead of anodize and is not as hard.

sun devil is worth a try.

I don’t own billet lowers that cost more than forged.

thanks scott,

that pretty much answers my questions.

seeing that the other options take the place of the type III

hard black anodized instead of adding something to it

I will prefer the hard black type III anodized.
