Subsonic for scorpion

Yesterday I realized at the range by shooting some subsonic 9 mm ammo in bulk from in my scorpion that it is THE round I want to use in my house. What subsonic hollow point ammunition or other defensive load which you use in your house in a PCC.? Right now, I use Punch but I want to go subsonic for sure. Thanks.

9x18 or 9x19 ?

I have some interesting ammo for my P64. 9x18 though.

Take your pick of 147gr jacketed hollow points.

I’d opt for Speer gold dots as a default.

Shooting suppressed or bare muzzle?

Can’t go wrong with Gold Dots. I like HST, but I seent a thing on the instagram where the guy was showing “another” 147 HST squib. Not sure if that’s been an issue or what.

Shooting suppressed. I was so impressed with the subsonic. Again:

Subsonic

Quality

Doesn’t over penetrate - I don’t need to shoot through a person and a wall - of miss and kill somebody not intended!

Yeah dude, any known good 147gr JHP, like Winchester RA9T, HST, Gold Dot, etc.

My personal preference is HST +P, but the extra barrel length of the Scorpion might kick it just high enough to get a “crack”. The standard pressure load might work though.

Like already mentioned, most of your big-name ammo makers will suffice. I myself would narrow it down for the shorter barrel (4 to 4.5”) of a handgun, but the longer barrel of the Scorpion means just about everything has better terminal ballistics.

[Assuming the Scorpion with a 7.8” barrel]
