Well at least on my quest in finding an answer to the posted question on where to cut my 16" AR barrel, 10.5" or 11.5" there is nothing of help at all there.
That happens when folks give a “generic” answer instead of taking a minute to be of actual help or even ponder the question.
Thanks again to all that took the time to be of actual help, another thing, IMO a man reserves foul language an d insults for ONLY face to face encounters, not from behind a keyboard.
But to answer your question.
I believe a 11.5" carbine has something like 40% longer dwell time.
Making it more reliable.
Another factor for you to consider is your gas port size.
Is it over sized, i.e. overgassed?
Run a search on 10.5" vs. 11.5", or something similar.
Thank you, as mentioned on the original post one of my 2 buddies, the one that claims 10.5" is fine has a chart on the required gas port sizes regarding barrel lengths, what i understood from him is that I might have to enlarge the present one when going from a 16" barrel to a shorter one. I gather that chart will not be of any help to me if the one present is already bigger than proper so I need to find about that and this is very helpful indeed.
I agree on this post not lasting long, at least you made it here in time. I am starting to wander if not only a number of the members here are 12 year old kids, but if the same goes for the administration?
No other gun forum I been too allows the use of foul language, at least when directed as an insult to any member or personal attacks for that matter, this place is a prize.
I know, “if you don’t like don’t let the door knob”…, “If you can’t take the heat”…, real choice retorts there.
It is gonna take more than the gems of the mouths of some choice folks to send me packing, there are good folks here and I’ll take those, the moderators, well that is another ball of wax, they could ban me, that is gonna depend on what side of the fence they live.
