Sava, what mags came with yours? MECGAR? I take it they are working well?
Great write up. I drink SA 1911 Koolaid. I am amazed how tight they make these guns and they function so well. It astounds me. This new Loaded Op. is now the best railed gun in a factory non custom price range, that totally kicks ass. Great purchase on your part, congrats.

Two 8 round Mecgar magazines. They have been 100% so far.

Good to hear springfield is starting to ship their guns with 8 rounders now. I just wish they would include a 3rd mag so you can run one in the gun and two in their carrier.
I have a couple Springfield Operators in my shop right now and I have recently been shooting an LB Operator like the one pictured here.
Other than a trigger job the gun is completely stock and out of the box it has been a reliable and accurate machine. My initial impressions of the gun backed up by my shooting experience with it make me believe that these guns are likely the best deal for a “rail gun” in the sub-$1500 price point.
Now if Springfield would just put out a railed TRP with a standard bushing, standard Novak sights, and 20lpi on the front strap they would truly have the best factory production 1911 on the market IMO.
Oh and make a sister to it in 9mm too that runs. Perfection.
Basically a loaded with checkering lol
Basically, Yea lol. When I spoke with Amanda at SACS she confirmed the loaded operator gets the same love as the TRPs so… Indeed.
Can we start a petition for this pistol? I would jump on it as a stable mate to my slick TRP. Hell I even have a spare X300U laying around that would be right at home on that pistol.
I would jump all over that.

My guess is they dont simply because they get people to buy the more expensive TRP operator.
Maybe like warren tactical we could get them to a m4c special edition, ha.
Agreed. I just want my TRP with a rail. Literally that pistol with a rail.
I’d be in for the 9.

I would be in for both, maybe even a 10mm
Forgive me if I’m missing something, 10-8 makes a rear sight for the TRP Operator and from what I understand the Operator is already setup to take a bushing so wouldn’t a conversion be relatively simple and inexpensive?
Straightforward yes. However figure you get into the TRP operator for 1400 add 100$ for the sight and then 2-300 for a new barrel if you fit it yourself and your 1700-1800$. It’d be nice to get into it for around 1300$ or less IMO.
At the point it would probably be cheaper to send the loaded operator to SACS to have it checkered and refinished.
Fair enough. Even buying new you can get a DW Specialist in SS for $1550, still a bit less than converting. I almost went for one but found my TRP Op for $1300. Bull barrel isn’t an issue for me though.
I don’t hate the bull barrel, but I don’t really care for the TRP Operator Bo-Mar sights. I would like to have 10-8 style sights rather than the adjustable ones.
I would buy that in a heartbeat!
