Looking for a ccw holster for my 6 inch gp100 for hiking/steelhead fishing. Anyone concealing a large revolver? What holsters you using? Anyone running a sourdough pancake?
Yeah, I’ve got one of those Simply Rugged Sourdough pancake rigs. They are good holsters, I carried a Ruger Security Six, 4"bbl in one, both IWB using the Inside-Out straps and OWB depending on the cover garments I could get away with. I’ve concealed the Six IWB with nothing more than a nice loose T-shirt covering the grip, no problem. I don’t know how tolerable a 6"bbl gun would be, though.
Mine squeaks a bit, but I bet that could be fixed. The people at Simply Rugged are good to deal with, too. The mouth of the holster isn’t reinforced, so you may experience collapsing problems upon draw if carried IWB, but I don’t recall any problems with mine.
