Anyone know where I can pick up some nomex aviator gloves and not spend an arm, leg, and testicle on them? The current pair I am using for entries has developed a slight tear in them and I want to pick up a few pairs as replacements.

Also, anyone know how # sizing matches up to the normal med, lrg, x lrg, etc? I wear an 8 in the aviators.
Maybe search for Damascus. (handarmor.com i think!) I have some of their Aviators that are sized by number.

I would look at actiongear.com as state above, they sell pretty close to standard issue gloves in many colors. They sell the closes in standard S-XL sizes. Issued aviator gloves are numbered sizes. Buy as many pairs as you can get, cause the durability is a little lacking in them. Just a suggestion.
I know all about that. I used to wear them all the time at Bragg. When I entered police work, I started wearing the Hatch shorty Operator gloves. Since I’ve gone to a new assignment and am doing a lot more entries, I’ve gone back to the aviators since I shoot best with them on.

Just found the gloves I was looking for. I need to reconfirm the size I’m wearing though. The site lists size 8 gloves as being sized small.

There’s another version that armored crewmen receive as part of the Combat Vehicle Crewman Uniform (CVCU). It’s an OD pair with cowhide instead of calfskin…

What size glove do you wear?
8 is what is on the inside of the gloves I’m currently wearing. I also have a pair of 10s, but they are too long in the fingers and generally too loose.

Keep an eye on eBay. When I wore them for Tac duty, I used to get them on eBay for @ $5 - $10 a pair. Whenever they tore, unraveled, got moldy, etc. I just tossed 'em and went to the next pair. Eventually we were issued Hatch’s, so I didn’t have to buy my own anymore.
+1 on the CVC gloves. Thye’re a darker green w/ black leather, but otherwise identical to the aviator gloves.
