I might not have been very clear in my first post. I run a VTAC (2 point) on my rifle. I pull my support arm out of the sling when I’m “actively” deploying it. By that I mean starting in the stack outside the door and all the way through clearing the structure, etc. The sling is just there to catch the rifle if I have to let it go to transition to my secondary. When it comes time to handcuff, render first aid, or any other deliberate action I can slip my support arm back through and either cinch it down across my chest or slip it around behind my back. Slinging it around my neck only is for fight time. Transitioning the rifle from strong to support side (pie-ing corners, entering doors on different sides of the hall, leaning around a barricade, etc.) with your arm through the sling is nearly impossible. When I need the rifle secured or out of my way I slip my arm back in. Hope that makes sense.

I use a condor 26 transporter bag. I can carry my carbine (broke down) along with a simple ifak, extra mags, etc. A pistol fits as well. It just looks like a sling bag. I can easily swing the bag around and access the contents if needed.
Then again I see my firearms as defensive tools. They’ll be deployed if I feel threatened, until then a low profile and avoiding a fight is only a good thing.
A chest rig, pc, or other open loadout only attracts unwanted attention. Others may see you as a potential threat and take you out. Whether “others” be joe smoe, le, or mil.
