Sling Attachment and Position Question

I think that I have decided to get a Vickers or Viking Tactics adjustable 2 point sling for my SBR. I am currently running a CTR stock and standard round handguards. I want Quick Disconnect at both ends.

My questions are:

  1. Do I attach the rear to the CTR stock or a burnsed loop/end plate adapter? Which one is better and why?

  2. Do I attach the front up towards the FSB or the Delta Ring? Which one is better and why?

  3. What is the best way to attach to the front end and why?

I find that using a DD rail mount and DD CAR receive extension mount for the Vickers sling works very well.

The problem is I do not have a rail yet, but I will look at the CAR receiver plate though.

Yeah, it’s best attached to the rail close to the receiver. You could attach a side sling loop at the FSB but I wouldn’t try to attach in any way to the handguards because you might easily pull the handguard off by accident.

If you want a front mount without going the rail option you can always just put a loop of 550 cord at the tail of the handguards (closest to the reciever) and mount the sling to it. If 550 cord is too low speed for you ( :stuck_out_tongue: ), BFG sells their universal sling attachment thing that you can do the same trick with.
