I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get more mags for the Sig 522. I have only seen the ones on the Sig page, and was wondering if anyone knew if any of the other aftermarket mags will fit this rifle?
Black Dog Manufacturing(BDM) make’s the mag’s for the 522. You can order from them or I have also ordered from Brownell’s. They make the mag’s and stamp them with the logo of the company they are making them for. I have one stamped with Sig’s logo that came with my 522, couple with Brownell’s logo and a couple with BDM on them.
Thanks Toxic, I looked at the factory mag and thought it looked similar to the Blackdog, just wasnt sure and didnt want to spend money on something that didnt work.
CMMG also makes magazine that work in my 522, I’ve used the grey ones and they have one now with a “skeleton” frame on the outside, it works well also.

Just don’t get the older skinny blackdog mags. They won’t fit into the 522,

As I understand it, Sig/BDM’s mags also fit S&W M&P 15-22 so S&W M&P 22 mags should in turn also fit the Sig 522. I plan to pick up a S&W mag (a couple of local stores carry them) to try in my Sig 522 to verify. The S&W mags are less expensive locally.

^The above is not true. BDM/SIG/CMMG mags are all compatible with one another, but are NOT compatible with the Smith M&P guns.
My Sig 522 has been FLAWLESS with both Black Dog and CMMG gray mags.
Black dog has them for $10/25 rounders, with $7 shipping. Just ordered them and they are identical to the OEM.
