Side charging AR10 uppers - ASA & JP. experience? opinions?

I’m getting cold on buying a KAC or DD in 308, and I have a bunch of parts laying around (complete lower, barrel) so I think I’ll build something. I’ve been looking at a couple of side charging uppers - the American Spirit Arms and JP. I have no experience with ASA, but their upper looks great. I have quite a bit with JP and their upper looks great to, but it’s double the money.

so, are either worth owning? will they fit with a DPMS patterned lower (I have a very nice 80% lower that my Dad finished for me on his mill that needs to be finished).

any feedback is appreciated.

Take a look at Gibbz arms also.https://gibbzarms.com/product/g10-308-side-charging-upper-receiver-right-handed/

ASA is under new ownership but not familiar with their quality. Years ago they sucked but it may not be a reflection on them now.
JP. Not much to say. Pay the price and get a great product that has tons of testing and use.

Check out the Savage 308 side charger. It’s non reciprocating and I believe it has a folding handle

MW- Is Savage selling just the upper? I was under the impression they were only selling whole rifles.

Gibbz…they are the guys that tried to go after every manufacturer using M-Lok on handguards or accessories, claiming they had a patent on it. Then Magpul stepped in.

LWRCI has the REPR…dont think they sell it as a stripped receiver though

It is an amazing upper. The Gbbz’ is very similar

I don’t know for certain. What I do know is, the Savage has the best thought out side charger design of any AR. If my primary goal was to have a side charger, I’d buy the whole rifle, if I had to. Where Savage missed the boat was by not offering the same design in their small framed AR. If they did, I’d take one and install it on a Lightfight SCR lower

HOLY SHIT THAT UPPER IS GORGEOUS !!!
