So I ordered a Banshee along with some other gear from Shellback Tactical back on Dec. 5th. All my other gear from them was shipped to me within a week, yet I still haven’t recieved my Banshee. And yes I have emailed them 3 times as well as left 2 voicemails, no response back yet. Did anyone else order one while they were on sale prior to Xmas?
there is a 30+ thread on TOS, you are not alone. I ordered mine through LA Police Gear, was told 1-2 weeks, it has been much longer, the whole thing is unfortunate, I just hope they don’t let quality slip while trying to up their production.

I got my ATACS about two weeks after order.
My black banshee is still on order and they said I should have it by the end of the month.
I am pretty much done with TAG and the Banshee carrier, I may use the black for a bit. I am going to be selling off all my TAG gear ($700+ worth) pretty soon because of the overall hassle and that my expectations were not met from what everyone was posting.
I ordered mine in Multicam, so I guess that could be the issue due to the popularity of all things Multicam at this time. I bought one based on Surf’s review and a few others. What was it that didn’t meet your expectations? Not looking to defend the product as I haven’t handled it yet, just curious.
I am not looking to bash any product either just giving my personal opinions.
I am not a gear critic in any capacity but I prefer specific things with the gear I use. My biggest complaint is that the 10x12 plate I put in the carrier does not sit snug, it moves around when I move. I understand that soft armor is required, and I bought their soft armor and it made matters worse because it definitely did not sit well. There were gaps where the soft armor was and the plate was not. I returned the soft armor because it stuck out the bottom a good inch and I am not going to wear it down after use and then have them not replace it when it is their design flaw to begin with.
My biggest complaint is that I cannot get the armor to sit properly on me. I am in no way a big guy, 6ft 185lb, and to have the armor cover the proper area (per the how to wear armor thread) I can barely breath. Once I load it up with mags, kits, etc I adjust it again and it is even more difficult to breath, let a lone run or do anything that involves movement. On top of everything I cannot get a good cheek weld because of how the armor sits and how far our the shoulder straps are.
There are a few more but I am not going to get into it - you can PM me and I will give you a really honest opinion.

I ordered a CB Banshee from Optics Planet for $116 and a few days later they emailed me saying it wasn’t going to be available for 4-6 weeks. I called to cancel the order and they told me it would be in 1/25 but no guarantees. So I cancelled and ordered the PIG PC on a Wednesday night and received it on Saturday and never thought about the banshee again. I know the PIG is 3X the cost but it’s been near perfect and there is absolutely no movement on my 10x12 plates. TAG just can’t seem to make the banshee fast enough and not getting any guarantees on delivery is just a deal breaker for me. I have no patience.
I ordered a cobra belt from them on Black Friday, I have sent 3 different emails and called 3 different times only to get the run-around from the phone reps and completely ignored by email.
At this point in time I just want my belt and to be done. I don’t think they realize that for every bad experience one customer has, an average of 41 people find out about it (taken from an advertising textbook, published in 2000)
They are also ignoring the posts on their facebook page.
On Black Friday (35%off,) I ordered a ranger green Banshee, side plate pockets, shoulder pads, a Banshee kangaroo pouch, and a cobra buckle riggers belt.
I have everything but the Banshee and the kangaroo pouch. Every time I get a hold of someone, the date gets pushed back. I should have bought a PIG Plate Carrier.
TAG even called me once after I expressed my displeasure on their Facebook page. I was told that all my items were upgraded to overnight shipping at no cost to me. They also sent me a 20% off coupon code (SAVE20) and a coupon code to get some mount I am unfamiliar with for $50 (GDI50.)
I will not likely use the coupon code. At this point, I just want my plate carrier. I should have spent the extra money and dealt with SKD. They are a class act. If they run a sale, I will likely order their plate carrier…even if I do get the Banshee someday.

They’ve been raising all kinds of hell over there. I just wish Shellback Tactical would respond to my inquiries. I’m not going to bash them, the rest of the gear I ordered arrived within a week of ordering it. I just want my damn Banshee so I can get to training in it.
Spoke with TAG this morning. I was told that the plate carrier would be finished TODAY and shipped overnight to me next week…we’ll see if another promise ends up broken. Living in San Diego, I would love to be a TAG customer, but they are making it very difficult.
TAG had stated to me that they would be shipping out to distributors on 1/22 which kind of makes sense since Optics Planet stated they would have them on the 1/25.
I got our two a Ranger Green and Black Banshee a week after I ordered them on Black Friday. We have not had any issues yet with the plate carriers in the class we went to but you never know with gear.
I guess since I just got two Banshee’s it went out before other’s gear did.
The following was posted by Shellback tactical on their FB page this morning…
“We are on track with production- Two facilities working on the Banshees. 1 facility has shipped all colors and we will begin shipping Monday- A second batch of Banshees will be in mid week and will begin shipping by the end of the week catching up orders. The Cobra Belts are also on track and will begin shipping within 7-10 days. Those who are waiting on Combat Aggressors those are also being finished and should begin shipping within the next 7-12 days. We are on it to get these orders fulfilled.”
That would seem to jibe with what the CS rep told me on Friday.
Wish you the best, I was really hoping to order the Banshee next month. I had previous experience with TAG that was very pleasurable but this is disheartening
They just didn’t shut down their sale prices when they ran out of stock on the Black Friday sale. As a fellow Banshee “user in waiting”, I’m just glad they are fulfilling the orders at the sale price instead of just telling everyone they are SOL.
I’m ok with it, but then again it’s winter here and I wouldn’t be able to use it for training yet anyways. I’ll keep getting TAG stuff. Seems pretty quality to me.
