I’m looking for a guide on how to block USGI 30 round AR-15 magazines to have a maximum capacity of 10 rounds. I’ve looked and looked and can’t find anything for my particular situation. I did find one single guide on how to do it with PMAGs, but they were only able to get it to 12 or 15 rounds, and I need 10 round maximum capacity. I also suspect that blocking PMAGs would be different than blocking Milspec aluminum magazines.
If this has been discussed before, I apologize. I DID search for it.
I have never done it on any mag or seen it done on any mag. But the way I have had it explained to me was that they put a rivet through the mag body at the appropriate location. This stops the follower from going lower than rivet. Should not be hard to force it to stop at 10 rds
No impact, no idea on blocking existing magazines, but keep your eye on Magpul. Their catalog shows that they have 5/10/15rnd magazines coming forward.

Well, that’s an incredibly easy method, and would be even easier if I had a rivet gun. I was thinking too much, that will work perfect with anything really. A bolt and nut. I understand a rivet for CA, as it must be permanent.
If anyone else has different methods I’d love to hear them.

now that magpul is going to offer 5 & 10rd mags, i am gonna stop hacking on them
