Has anyone had any issues/complaints with the buckle on a 6005? any interferance issues, etc.??
I don’t have the 6005, but I have the 6004 and bought the Blackhawk drop leg extender for like $8 and it pretty much makes it into the same thing. No problems at all, I thought that the added bulkyness might interfere with the hood release, but it doesn’t at all. Plus, the added benefit of the QR is priceless!
I run my thigh holsters very hig (a la MM seen HERE), requiring some removal of the rear velcro strap. In this configuration (which I find to be the most practical and usable) the 6005 buckle does not do well- at least I wasn’t happy with the result.
Those that wear the holster in the more traditional Han-Solo style don’t seem to mind.
I run mine high too, and that was a concern I had. I figured that the buckle would be a limitation.
I run mine high too, and other than having to cut off a ton of the strap, it runs fine for me.
The only thing I did to my buckle was to relieve the center tab so my thumb doesn’t catch on it when going for the bail. It’s still functional.
