RIP Pepper, Wise County Sheriff K-9

A local K-9, by the name of Pepper, was KIA recently during a search and attempted apprehension of a felony suspect. Pepper, a Dutch Shepard, was one of the newest K-9’s with the Wise County Sheriff’s Department. During the search, Pepper located the felony suspect hiding under a pile of leaves and was shot by the suspect. Officers then returned fire, killing the suspect. Pepper performed his duties with valor, and quite possibly, saved the lives of his fellow officers. My thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to Pepper’s partner, a Wise County Sheriff’s Deputy. Thank you, for keeping this area safe.

Brave pup, served the citizens of Wise County valiantly.

We laid to rest one of our K9’s who succumbed to natural causes a couple of weeks ago, he was a buddy’s of mine first K9 partner, it sucks.

:(, I’m sure he will be missed…

Rest in Peace Pepper. You gave all. As one bravely leaves the ranks, another joins to soothe.
