return to zero?

I purchased a Bobro trijicon mount along with a tr24. I installed them on my noveske and zeroed them last week. This week I tried to see if the bobro mount would return my tr24’s zero after removing it and re-mounting it.

I was disappointed to see that it was not even close to returning to zero. Am I doing something wrong or is their something else I should be checking?

I left and email to Bobro, and thinking about contacting Trijicon to check if my scope is faulty. They are brand new units, I know how to mount scopes, and I didn’t abuse the product in anyway. In fact, they’ve been in padded cases.

I re-zeroed the unit and will at the range again next weekend to check what would happen if I re-mount and mount again.

Can you guys often any suggestions as to what I should be checking to help me trouble shoot the cause of the problem?

I read how good the Bobro mounts are here on M4C. And I admit they are very well made and easy to use, but why am I having problems with having it return to zero?

Could it be my scope?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Define “not even close.” Surely you had a measurable difference.

Short of ensuring that the rings are as tight as they should be on the optic, the most common thing I see forgotten during the mounting process is the shooter not applying forward pressure on the optic IOT ensure that the front face of the recoil lug(s) on the rail interface is mated up with the rear of the rail slot the lug is placed into.

Did you mark the location of your initial mounting with a witness mark? If not, and you didn’t note a T-mark reference to remember, it may not have been placed in the same rail slot. Also not uncommon (guilty!).

Beyond that, it may very well be that particular mount or the optic.

I re-mounted everything the same way I mounted it. The Bobro mount is so easy and built like a tank that I thought it has to be idiot proof.

Bobro, emailed me back to help me resolve the issue.

I’m thinking maybe it’s the scope? How do I check if the scope is the problem?

Did you ever resolve this issue?
