I’ve become a fan recently of Republic Ammo for primers. They always seem to have something in stock and reasonably priced.
I do find their shipping to be kinda high but hazmat is $15. I generally go in with a friend on a larger order and we split shipping/hazmat. We just ordered 5K Magtech LRP’s (($0.067 per), 5K Win SPP ($0.05 per), and 1K White River Energetics SPP ($0.05 per). Wanted to try the WRE primers.
There were cheaper options but I’m unsure of them. Ginex SPP were $0.04 per. Probably should have tried some but they were the brass ones…I’d heard something about them maybe being an issue…not sure.
Shipping to TX was $36 and HAZMAT was $15.
I generally get my orders delivered within a week. I live between San Antonio and Austin.
I’ve shot the Ginex a good amount and haven’t had a failure. Mine are the brass colored cups I believe.
They are different that American primers in that if you have to back one out. (I’ve done 2 or 3). The anvil has fallen out of the primer and it’s ruined.
WSPs seem to be most available. I hope Win’s quality is good on those. I get nervous when American’s rush to meet demand.
I have been buying SPP from these guys, and along with my shooting buddies, we have prob bought 100K plus! Thats shooting and stash, LOL. I have had zero issues with them and have loaded a few thousand 9mm rds and while I haven’t shot them all they all have been GTG so far. American Reloading has decent prices also along with Fiocchi SPP and everyone that has bought them, me included has had 0 issues with them. I plan on trying Republic for some CCI Mag SRP but just haven’t grabbed any yet, maybe they will come down a little more. I just bought 5K of Winchester #41 SRP at a local gun show a weekend ago or so, It was $285 for them so $56 bucks per 1000, not terrible. Buy the Fiocchi markm. I shot them and had good luck but never ran them over a Crono. I have a buddy that shoots USPSA and is either a Master or at least an A and he swears by them and uses them exclusively! I mean ya can find and buy domestic but they are more $$$ and don’t know if they’re worth the extra in comparison. $52 bucks per 1K isn’t terrible and if ya buy 12000, I think they drop off another $20 or so. Split it with Papabear!
Pappabear just bought 5k CCI small pistol. I’d like to have got another 5k of the same, but I suppose I could look at running my 40 cal with Fiocchi and keeping the CCI for 9mm.
I’ve shot up about 300 White River energetics primer so far and I’ve had zero failures, so they’re an American made option. My absolute favorite is still the CCI 500 but it’s nice having options. I bought 1000 of the white river, and 5000 Winchester last time I was out on the republic website. I’ll say this about White River, my buddy has an automatic primer feed. . I’ll say this about White River, my buddy has an automatic primer feeder, not sure what brand, but it works slick filling primer tubes for the Dylan with CCI primers. We tried it with the white river, and it kept getting hung up. I don’t really understand why that happened, but it did. I don’t have an automatic primer feed, I use the pick up tubes, so no big deal to me.
I’ve been looking hard at ordering brass from Republic ammunition. I think I’ve settled on the once fired clean and polished 9 mm. I can get 2000 delivered for $79 to my home in the South Texas area. They still have primers, but that’s not a big deal. It’s not much of a savings over the dirty ones and a good savings over the fully processed shells.
