replacement disconnect question

I put my lower together with the LMT parts kit. The disconect wouldn’t rock
back far enough to allow the hammer to cock again. I ground it down and it
works now but I wanted to get a 2nd disconect and spring just in case that
gives me any trouble. Will a colt disconnect work or just get any disconnect??

Any will work but you should have sent the part back instead of grounding it. You dont really want a ATF problem.

I didn’t grind down the hook at all or the foot on the front. Just the bottom rear but I also plan on ordering another this week just in case there are issues.

Just ordered 2 and 2 springs so I should be good if issues.

Just a thought, did you have the lower completely put together when you tried the trigger function? If you did not, did you have the safety (selector) installed? It needs to be to do a proper trigger, safety function test.

Didn’t have it all together. It wouldn’t depress by hand either. Ill switch it out when my new ones come in. Live and learn I guess

Without the safety (selector) installed the trigger comes back too far when you pull it. If you hold the trigger all the way to the rear and keep it there, the disconnect can not move enough to function properly when you bring the hammer back. With the safety installed it probably would have worked fine.

Ahhh!!! Ill just stick the replacement in and call it a lesson well learned
