I have an 870 Police Magnum with +2 factory extension. I want to mount a QD socket in front of the fore end at the 6 o’click position. I’ve only seen options that go to the right or the left, or an end cap that would replace the +2 extension (which I don’t want).
Has anyone seen anything like this? I am not willing to bolt a rail section onto the mag extension/barrel and then add a rail mounted QD socket.

Can you mount a barrel clamp? Both Nordic Components and Noveske make such a QD socket that mounts to the Nordic barrel clamp.
How much is it worth to have it your way?? If cost is no problem you could put a RS BM12G on the tube and a Gear-Sector QD mount on the rail for around $100. It would be a little bulky though. If you are willing to use a sling with HK style clips it would be easy and cheaper. GH
Just curious but why do you want it at 6 o’clock instead of 3 or 9?
Hmac, thats a great solution for a 3 or 9 o’clock mount but as mentioned in the original post I am looking for a QD socket at the 6 o’clock position.
GH41, funny you mentioned that as I emailed 96SS about something similar. However, as mentioned in the original post I don’t want a rail section+adapter.
SteveL, the main reasons are: I am right handed, I use a 2 pt sling, and i want to put a flashlight at 9 o’clock.
I suppose a compromise would be running the flashlight at 3 o’clock and have the sling connect at 9 o’clock. However, I haven’t seen any flashlight solutions that make a flashlight at 3 o’clock easy to use on the support hand. I don’t want to run a tape switch, especially on a pump.

I understand the desire for a light. On my Mossberg I installed a Surefire forend with integrated light, but I understand if you don’t want to shell out the cash for one of those. In addition to that I put on a Magpul forward sling mount kit with QD points at 3 and 9 o’clock.
Use our mount, the MOE forend, and the MOE scout mount and the light is out if the way of the sling.
