Raven Concealment Vanguard 2 Holster For Glocks

Regarding the snap- Our snaps are tight when you first get them. This is on purpose, they will break in nicely and be “just right” after a little bit of use. There is a section in the manual on how to ensure the snap is set up properly. Be sure to check that out if you haven’t already.

Regarding short barreled guns- We have also found that the larger pistols actually do better than the short ones for most people. This is certainly a personal preference, but most find a G19 conceals just as well as a G26 because the longer barrel helps to “push” the grip back into their stomach.

A lot of guys here carry cut Glocks (G19 cut to 26, G17 cut to 19, etc) and those seem ideal for appendix carry. Just something to consider.

That’s been my experience as well. When I got this thing on Monday, I had to use a screwdriver to open the snap. It’s only Wednesday and I can do it by hand now (I’ve worked the snaps less than 20 times).

The snap on the pre-production VG2 I had in my hands for a while settled in just fine in short order, while remaining nice and secure.

I’m sure this one will settle in nicely too, as these straps are the best I’ve used so far. Much thinner and more secure than the traditional rubber ones.

I plan on ordering a bunch from you guys to replace all of the rubber ones I have on other holsters.

Highly recommended for those who haven’t used them yet.

Had mine for about 6-8 months now I think. Loving it. AIWB is so easy with this thing. Im seriously considering a grip chopped G19/17 because I feel like my 19 is more comfortable than my 26 due to the barrel length.

Got mine today and was surprised at how easily it conceals AIWB. Not having any training at all in AIWB, it will not be my primary mode of concealment, but in a pinch it works for me. It also hid under a plain t shirt, even with my “one pack”. At 3 o’clock-ish it fits like a dream. Gotta dry fire/draw for a while to get a feel for it some more, but first impressions have me thinking my Blade-tech might spend more time in a drawer.

Got mine today from the last per-order. It does fit my G21SF & G30SF, as well as the other smaller caliber Glocks. It’s nice to have a quick daytime option for those times when you have to make a quick run to the store. Now get to work and develop one that will work with mounted lights, pretty please.

I agree! This is the main reason I don’t carry my G19 more, since I like to keep my X300 on it for nightstand duty.

Got mine this afternoon. All I can say is, “wow - another great product from RCS!”

Wore my 19 to church this evening. Even with a rather tight-fitting Polo (one that I would never wear with my DF Archangel), it concealed my pistol perfectly.

Looking forward to trying it out with my 17 tomorrow.

Me to, my m&p9c and m&p9fs are quite envious of this thread.

I picked mine up from the post office this morning. It looks good and appears to be well thought out and made. I will use it on the range for about eight hours today so hopefully by the end of the day I will have the hang of it.

That is funny! My 19 went to church in it this morning as well. AIWB is brand new to me. It is really weird having the muzzle pressed against my junk when sitting.

I have to agree with everyone who has already stated that the VG2 is stupid simple, and really comfortable/easy to use.

My only complaint is that it arrived with some sticky goop on the inside that prevented smooth draws until I cleaned it. Otherwise, great product!

I’m happy to see all the good feedback since I recently placed my first order with RC for this holster. The website states my order status is “Ready”, as of 7/31, and thanks for your payment, it will ship in a few days. It hasn’t shipped yet and I wonder if this is normal? I’m not complaining, just want to make sure I haven’t done anything incorrectly, being this is first time ordering. Thanks

I jumped into this holster at the last minute and so far I am a big fan. It’s been a hot summer here and I was looking for an alternative carry method and thought I would try the AIWB style. Found out I’m not a huge fan at all. But when I moved the gun/Holster back on my side…

It was like Wow… Comfortable, easy on/ off and concealed better then my CTAC IWB Hybrid holster. I carried all day and was very comfortable.

The snap has not been an issue and works very well. Time will tell on this holster, but so far, I’m liking it.

Ordered mine on the 29th (missed out on the pre-order), it’ll be here tomorrow or Wednesday. I’m stoked.

I’m hoping it’ll replace the need for an IWB holster, in addition to AIWB usage. I can’t wait.

I have been rocking this holster for around a week now with a Volund Gearworks Atlas belt, and I’m loving it. The Vanguard 2 is an outstanding option for day to day carry. It has made me into an AIWB convert. Something I had always been pretty unsure about prior.

Same exact experience for me. Been carrying in a Kramer and the decreased bulk is welcome. Loving it.

Quick question. Does a the vanguard 2 pull in the butt of the gun in to the body or does the grip kinda stick out a little. I am wondering about this on a g19.

I’ve been wearing this at home for the past week with a G19, and my observations are, it does a great job at tucking the butt into my abs. I know this because I have fairly aggressively stippling on my G19, and it took a little time for my skin to get used to the abrasiveness.
You also need to play with the tension on your belt and positioning of the holster/gun to get it right, but it’s not hard to do.

Just got mine Friday, used it over the weekend.

I really like it. I’ve been carrying 330-4 with it (can’t get comfortable with AIWB, may experiment more with it though).

Due to the decreased thickness, I find my G19 is about as comfortable and concealable with the VG2 is as my Kahr PM9 is with a traditional holster.

Product quality is excellent. Very high quality materials, think it will hold up, and the holster does not want to rotate (was a bit worried about that given how simple a design it is). Snap is VERY tight out of the box, but only takes a few snaps to break it in and get the hang of it.

Really cool that you can load, unload/clear, press check etc. all with the weapon holstered. Psychologically, it takes a little time to get used to - my brain doesn’t want to recognize the gun as holstered.

It is tuckable, but not sure I’ll use this function. I’ve yet to find a tuckable holster that conceals well for me. Will have to experiment with it more I guess, nice to have the option but doubt I’ll use this with a tucked in shirt.

Time will tell, but I think this product has the potential to change the way I carry. I had been getting into the habit of only carrying a j-frame or a PM9 due to comfort and concealability. I think the VG2 will allow me to carry my G19 as frequently as I had been carrying the 642 or PM9.

I’ve been waiting for this to come out and I am glad it’s getting such great reviews. I am a true KISS guy, so I really like the “less is more” approach.

The only thing I was wondering about is how well a shirt tucks with either a G19 or G26 at the appendix or “3” o’clock.

Do you guys have any feedback so far for actually having your shirts tucked in?

Any pics would be really appreciated!

Thanks ahead of time.

Giff

Just got mine today. I like it so far. I DO have a rounded trigger guard on one of my 17/19’s and the retention is still quite firm. I was worried about it retaining the gun with the little trigger hook ground off, but so far so good.
