i stopped paying attention a long time ago. what can i do? we’re all fucked or we’re not, and since we’re 4,600 miles away, even here on the pacific coast, i’m gonna go with “not fucked.”
Scary thing is I’ve seen in other forums dumb asses telling other dumb asses to give their children iodine because the gov is lying and we’re all going to die, it’s a good way to permanently screw up a child with some brain damage. If an adult wants to poison themselves that’s cool have at it, but when people start poisoning their children they need a swift kick in the ass.
If the major news companies have already reported it, you can bet some idiot is running to Wal Mart and stocking up on stuff.

Anyone who listened carefully to the news reports could have concluded weeks ago on his own that this was a 7.
Same idiots who refused to vaccinate their kids because the government was not being truthful about the fact that vaccinations led to autism.
All they managed to accomplish was the resurgence of many diseases that had been all but eliminated in this country. And then come to find out that the study that showed the link was fabricated horseshit.
With the internet and the average person being able to make their beliefs known, I am horrified by how many criminally stupid people are actually out there.
I used to believe in the silent majority of common sense, these days I fear we are actually greatly outnumbered to the point of being at the mercy of the lowest common denominator. And that realization goes a long way to explaining the current state of things.
I have had to explain to many female friends what German Measels is because their parents never gave them MMR vaccination (I’m from a very liberal college town). It’s kinda sad because they are stupid, their kids are ignorant, and their grandchildren could end up blind. =/
The original study on the autism link was published in the Lancet(British equivalent of JAMA). IIRC, it is the only study that has ever been rescinded by the journal. Purely B.S. which some seized upon to get on the high horse.
