Oh, posting rimfires. Here’s my Mark IV, recently swapped out the optic to a Shield RMSx.
12.5" MK18
Two uppers one lower, in celebration of Brace Ban Extinction.
Fully assembled ASDW “Product Improvement Program” below. It is a BITCH getting a ten-round mag seated with a closed bolt! (I don’t trust things to leave the bolt locked open for extended periods and the entire opcon of the PIP is “lock barrel, rack bolt, Ready For Bang.”)
Above is the stripped-down Mk 18 Mod Gremlin* URG, looking for tuneups to make this very heavy URG more useful. Old Diamondhead folder removed - since this is not a Duffel Carry piece anymore I’ve pivoted to fixed sights. (The rear sight is a knockoff, it was in a neighbor’s garage sale and bought for concept eval not serious use.) Very firm support hand lockup with that “AFG plus thumbrest” setup.
*As in, “evil little green thing that will f— you up and otherwise generally ruin your day”
Question to the Peanut Gallery… considering the CASV’s weight, how do we kit the Gremlin to make it useful for Bump In The Night? That section of bare rail was installed thinking of a tailcapped light positioned to work with the thumb. Don’t recall if there are sockets on the upper slant to mount a shorty rail or if I’d need to dig out one of the longer ones.
If SBRs are taken off the NFA all my 16” guns are going to 12.5”. It just seems like a good GP length and the older I get the more I appreciate shorter, lighter guns.
Conversely even if NFA is dead none of my AR pistols are permanently getting stocks due to WA “loaded gun/mag in vehicle” restrictions. I MAY upgrade a whole bunch of 'em to SBA3/SBA4 braces and keep a telestock or two in a separate bag to slap on at the range… but in transport they stay pistols because of our asinine laws, esp the Fischgestapo’s autistic paranoia about “LODED GUNZ IN KARZ R POCHURZ REEEEEE!!!”
We need some new pics of the GL/SSC
I’ll have to dig it out.
Sweet! I love blued S&W revolvers.
