Should Congress reinstate the federal ban on assault weapons that was enacted in 1994 but not renewed after lapsing in 2004?

Good to see that it is 74% against a new ban so far.
This is a local poll for us in NJ/Philly, as NBC10 is the South Jersey/Philadelphia affiliate. Obviously it was prompted by the recent idiotic rantings of Gov. Rendell and Mayor Nutter after the police officer was killed. Never mind he was killed with an SKS using a 10 round fixed mag, a weapon not included in the ban they are pushing for.
Once again, deflect the blame on an inanimate object, not the bad people. And the city itself is just becoming a disaster anymore, being slowly destroyed by the democrats. More non-accountability.
No, it is called creating news stories. Create a poll and if it goes the way they want than they can run a story about the poll and it’s results. Since it isn’t going the way they want it will be buried for a week or two before they decide to take a different angle of attack.
I’ve never seen any of these “straw” (by definition unscientific) polls referred to in any kind of legitimate news story saying “x number of americans believe in yadda yadda.” Pundits like Lou Dobby, Keith Uberqueer and Ill O’Reilly might use them but then their credibility is pretty nil…as is anyone who thinks this poll calculates anything other than the number of script kiddies and links to other sites.
I have seen plenty of interest pieces on local news that have referred to the results of a recent straw poll as the impetus behind the story. Mind you this is local news not the national news.
Someone or something on a much higher plain of existence needs to tell them NO!, pat their heads and send them to bed.
Just a bunch of ignorant children who speek out of turn without out proper facts and have somehow found their way into the position of running a country full of people… Very sad.
Its not hard to see these signs of ignorance in regular people in todays society either… Also very sad.
Needless to say but, Im afraid for my childrens future. Teaching them right from wrong will hopefully help them dodge stuipidy as it flies about. Will teaching them a disciplined and moral life style beget a revolution though? Givin’ the obvious “steering” (as you put it) of the ship into the future. It scares me, how much can a person take? I mean seriously.
