Owning it

If you don’t own land you have no real skin in the game.

I’d say not necessarily land owners but it should be limited to taxpayers. If you pay in more than you get back then that is skin in the game. And I say that as a landowner.

I would agree with you, if you’re not paying in you don’t have skin in the game, but…
We have a Multi-Million Dollar School Bill being Voted on today, I don’t have kids in the School System, but my Property Tax is pretty High. So who’s got skin in the game on that one?
The Guy with three kids in School who is renting or me with a paid off house?

This is Socialism in a nutshell, someone is always paying the tab for those who don’t/

Heavy handed enforcement of the 9th, 10th, and 14th Amendments would greatly reduce most of the problems US society faces.

I haven’t noticed land ownership, or any other characteristic of wealth, as an indicator a person has a legit claim to lord it over others.

Listened to election news the other night. Over 80% categories for Mamdani voters were women under 30, Muslims, Athiests and LGBTQ. Interesting coalition.

Owner of the property pays the tax from rent paid to him by the renter. So…

It’s not the school house that matters most but rather teachers and parents. When they fail, the cost burden is shared by everyone in society for generations. Unfortunately, we’re all paying the price of decades of failed teachers and parents.

It’s amazing how women and alphabet people are consistently all-in on supporting radical muslims when they will be the first enslaved or killed if the radical muslims ever fully took over the government. And it’s not like that is a secret- they do it all over the world. Liberalism is truly a mental disorder.

Iranian Leftists were thrilled about Khomeini. Until he killed about 30k of them, and thousands more fled the dusty shithole of Islam. Like you said, it’s a disease.

If you start at the top of this thread and read down, event by event it’s pretty fantastic how fast this went South.
NYC elected a Communist.
The Guy who was calling for the death of an Opponant and his Children got elected.
Pretty much the GOP got the hind tit.

Averageman, I know it is being praised as an “ass whooping on Trump” by the press and the Dems. My question is “Is it really?”

I mean sure a commie terrorist sympathizer just got elected mayor of NYC.That’s not good. I have been way to busy with my own life to pay much attention to these elections. So tell me, did any traditional red areas go blue? Or was this a “blue wave” in blue waters. From the little I have paid attention, it seems like the latter. Traditional Dem strongholds voting blue.

Willing to accept that I am mistaken if that ain’t the case. But it seems to me that the story is that if Republicans could even hope for a win in some of these races that meant gaining ground. Obviously that didn’t happen, but was it a shellacking or simply a bridge too far?

Well, I have to agree, Blue Wave in Blue Water, and apparently they’ve doubled down on stupid.
A Jay Jones victory means they do not at all care about political violence.

In 2025, voters were willing to look past texts Jones sent in 2022 fantasizing violence against the state’s then-Republican House speaker and his family.

In some ways I am reminded of Stockholm syndrome. California democrat voters would be an example. Held hostage by one-party democrat rule. Crime, taxes, homelessness and of course “affordability” totally out of control, millions of 3rd world illegal alien criminals running amok… on and on… yet democrat voters overwhelmingly vote for their captors.

Part of it is mindless political partisanship. Politics has morphed into a type of sports game, with democrat voters acting like drunk Green Bay cheeseheads. Doesn’t matter if the ball is clearly down on the 5yd line, they’ll stand and scream “TOUCHDOWN!” They hunger to be gaslit by media talking heads.

Republicans need to learn that democrats have no principles. However, democrats use principles as a cudgel to beat republicans over the head, resulting in republicans self-flagellating and retreat.

Trump is correct when he says that if/when democrats gain power and have the opportunity to end the filibuster rule in US Senate, they will.

I’ll tell you, I have really enjoyed the break from politics this summer/fall. In my area it’s all local municipal elections this year. As I live in an unincorporated rural area there was exactly nobody on the ballot for me and no issues, measures, or bonds. Loved it.

I’ve heard that said several times in the course of my life, yet they never have.

Whoever ends the filibuster is wrong, no matter who does it.

It’s because they hate you. Nothing more or less. They would vote to become slaves if you were chained up too.
Your existence stands in objection to their worldview/The Revolution, and that is their greatest and only unforgivable sin.
Never forget the leftist loathed you, personally.

reviving this to note that the price of a 12 pack of Soda in my local WalMart had dropped Three Dollars since we quit subsidizing the Soda industry with WIC.

Kind sir, my research says that per ounce prices have not declined over the past ten years, including the past year. It appears that there is a 4% increase since last year, in fact. Considering inflation, I’d just call the “real price” flat.

Also, I’m sure you are thinking of SNAP, since WIC never covered soft drinks.

My Bad SNAP.

No seriously look at the drop in prices. That’s a New Thing. and this is why the prices are Lower.
