Over Estimated Overall Length on Form 1?

Submitted my Form 1 to SBR my pistol lower. It’s an 11.5" upper so I put down 31.5" on the overall length. I had a buddy just do a measurement on his 11.5" upper with a SOPMOD stock on a 6-position buffer tube and got 29.5" without the rubber butt pad. Would there be any issues with the ATF on this by over estimating my overall length? Say my Form 1 is approved, is it recommended that I notify them my overall length is shorter than declared? I plan on using a 6-position BCM tube along with the B5 BRAVO stock.

Thanks!

Nobody gives a shit about that stat. It’s bureaucratic retardation.

Not a big deal

This sums it up…

Seattle206, did you measure your barrel length from the bolt face to the crown of the barrel? Do it the ATF way and you’ll quickly find out that they don’t agree with the manufacturers.

You can, but are not required to, send a letter to update those details if you change your SBR.

Good information guys.

The upper is a BCM 11.5 which I listed the barrel length on form 1 as 11.5" and added 20" to that which got me 31.5". I don’t ever intend to switch uppers from that sbr’s lower. If I get my approval I’ll just leave it as is.

From BCMs website, this is what I used on my form 1 of an 11.5, their measurement of extended length of 30.5.

But as others have said…no one cares.
