Mega is sexy.
Here’s another one of my Mega builds. 5 of my 6 rifles have Mega uppers and lowers, I just like the way they fit together. The next rifle I want to use a billet set.

The gun I am halfway through is a Mega billet lower/forged upper. The billet lower is a masterpiece…
I might have considered doing the billet upper as well but I since I am using a round handguard I felt the forged upper look better. I also did not want to use the weaker billet on the upper (where real stress is encountered, unlike the lower) in a rifle that I am designing to be a go to gun, though I am sure they are just fine.
I agree, the rounded forged upper will look better with a round handguard. Its cool that you picked up on that. I used the RRA ATH on the 6.8 at the top of the post, I would have used a billet set on that rifle but it just didn’t look right with the handgaurd.
When I build the billet rifle I’m going to use a Wilson Combat TRIM handgaurd, I think it’ll look nice. I haven’t used a billet upper yet so I have no idea what the strength differences are. I shoot the piss out of my guns so that may be something I will have to investigate.
Whose hand guard is that sexy thing???
That is a Rock River Advanced Half Quad, here is a link:

Its a nice gaurd and a lot lighter than it looks. It has two allen head set screws that hold it secure to the barrel nut. There’s plenty of room to hide the gas block, if you like that look. I also use Rock River 2 stage triggers on all my builds.
I figured I would put the rest of my rifle builds on here for anyone interested in looking at them. I can’t wait to get my factory rifle and see how it compares to my work, I’m sure the a factory Wilson Combat or LWRC will be nicer.
Other than the S&W bulid and the 6.8 I have shot thousands of rounds through each of my builds and haven’t had a single failure. The 6.8 has 200 rounds through it with 2 FTF, I didn’t bumb the shoulder back far enough on my first round of relaods. The S&W has close to 300 and I had the same problem with reloads.
Here are the first two rifles I built, my first rifle is the one with the cheap ass red dot, learned a lesson there.

Here’s my 3 gun rifle.

18" S&W, this gun is very accurate. It has a Wilson Combat bolt with a Delton barrel, and a DSA upper. I’m not very impressed with the DSA upper, or the handgaurd. I think I’m gonna replace it with another Mega.

I just settled on a Mega forged upper to pair my noveske afghan. Can’t wait for it to arrive!
Noveske and Mega…you won’t be dissapointed. I’d like to see some pics of that rifle when your done.
Putting a Noveske n4 light barrel on my mega upper ![]()
Should be finished early next week with lots of pictures and a nice sized write up.
I decided to buy a factory rifle next, but after that I was hoping to build a Noveske/Mega/WilsonCombat mutt. I’ve never used Novesk parts but I did fire a Noveske rifle, it was like driving a performance car. It was a 6.8, the guy said it was a Recon, thats what convinced me to build my 6.8.
I have been on the wrong forum! Switched over here and there is lot more Mega love. I also have a Mega/Noveske build in the works! Mega Billet Lower, MMS Mono Upper Mid, and a fluted Noveske Afghan. Wish it would get here already! I am loving these part choices!!! Can’t wait to post mine. Your rifle looks great, btw! I loved hearing you have 5 of 6 rifles w/MMS lowers. haha
