Prior post on Old and Angry, I mentioned part II would be out soon. Only took me 5 years, but part II is out! I had not really planned on a part II, figured it was a one time spin off from the Vacation Gone South series, but decided part II made sense for the character, who was inspired by a friend of mine who was an LLRP in 'Nam. I look forward to your thoughts and feedback.
PS, for those who didn’t read Part I, it will be on sale for .99 starting tomorrow for the week!

Grabbed the set. Not my typical genre of choice but what the hell. It may take me a bit but will review when read.

Cool, hope you enjoy it. What’s your typical genre?
Generally non-fiction with a very liberal helping of Sci-Fi/Fantasy adventure .

Good deal. I have several well reviewed Scifi novellas and one fantasy/Scifi also. Old and Angry is a spin off from the Vacation Gone South series.

Just noticed you had a bunch of stuff on kindle unlimited. I’ll see what I get to.
I guess I could have just downloaded the two on KU and saved the five spot. Oh well. I hope if you sell enough you can at least get a cup of coffee out of it.
Good luck with the book(s).
ETA: I just finished a reread of the set of expanse novels and shorts. That kinda blew my time budget on leisure reading for a bit.

My fiction is all novellas, so quick reads for today’s attention spans and schedules.

“Great read! Smooth storyline. I sat down and read it in one sitting-i couldn’t put it down!”
Boston Boy
4.0 out of 5 stars I’d make it an action movie!

“It occurred to me over and over again when reading Will Brink’s “Old and Angry II” that its main character and suspenseful plot involving the search for a backpack-sized nuclear bomb planted in New York City by terrorists would make a thrilling action movie. Brink is a talented story teller with in-depth knowledge of covert military operations, tactics, strategy, weaponry and interagency rivalries—not to mention the sometimes expedient warrior ethos when survival is at stake.”
Bravo Will !

Thanx bro. Any gun guys should enjoy those novellas.
Read both in a few hours yesterday and this morning. Fun little reads. Good job Will. I enjoyed the break.
Like I said before, not my usual taste in genre. Still enjoyed the reads. I will likely read some more of your titles in the future. The length of read is pretty close to perfect for reading at the gate/during a domestic flight.

Glad you enjoyed them. Please leave a review. Those are a spin off from the Vacation Gone South series of which there’s 4 of them, and I have Scfi too. All are novella length too.
Current Blurb for book. Too long? Gives too much away? Always a challenge to make compelling being careful not to add spoilers:
Paul returns from Vietnam after losing his closest friend on a mission that went FUBAR and goes from the pan into the fire. His old neighborhood in Brooklyn has been infiltrated by international terrorists and the CIA sends him to investigate, dealing with the threat as only he can, with violence of action and no quarter given.
Everyone knows the CIA can’t operate on US soil legally, so sending their most experienced contractor to maintain plausible deniability is the only move, leaving Paul on his own should the mission go south. His experience in the highly classified unit that had conducted the secret war, MACV-SOG, or the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group, had prepared him for virtually any combat situation, but New York City in the early 70’s is a very different place than the triple canopy jungles of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. New York City is run by the five Mafia crime families, and Paul must employ their assistance to take down the Black September terrorists planning to vaporize the city with a stolen tactical nuclear weapon on the one year anniversary of their killing of 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Summer Munich Olympics.
Time is ticking, every minute counts, and Paul has to convince the mob it’s in their best interest to help him, or kill him, either outcome is a distinct possibility.
Some reviews coming in from other writers in the thriller style genre. Mark Allen, author of top selling Team Reaper series and others, gave a great review on my latest project via GoodReads:
Reading one of Will Brink’s action-thriller novellas just never gets old. Brink nails the first-person POV better than anyone since Richard Marcinko, putting the reader right in the midst of the violence while also providing a “been there, done that” perspective on the warrior mindset, including witty asides that provide brief breathers between the relentlessly escalating tension.
This time around, our protagonist isn’t really “old” because this happens to be a prequel, but he is most definitely still angry, because terrorists have hidden a bomb in NYC and our get-it-done trigger puller will do anything, including teaming up with mobsters, to end the threat … and end those behind the threat. But perhaps even more exciting than the nuke plot is the early mission in Vietnam, which eventually ties in to the bomb hunt. There is some real heart-pounding grit to be found in those pages, with blood and sacrifice the name of the game. If Brink ever decides to write a novel (or novella) set entirely during the Vietnam war, I’ll be first in line to buy it.
Bottom line, Brink knows how to write a brawling, bruiser, bullet-fest of a story. If you’re not reading him, you should be.
To celebrate the release of “Old And Angry II” I have made the highly rated Part One of the Vacation Gone South series (Old And Angry is a spin off of that series) FREE for the next few days. If you like fast paced gritty hard boiled thriller, start with that series:

Any of my bros here read it? Could use some reviews on that one! Our regular member (who has been missing for a while), Yoni wrote on part I:
5.0 out of 5 stars Great read
“Like all of Wills books a well written page turner. The only problem I have with the book is I can see myself in a decade and a half turning into the main character. If you have a flight to catch and you travel enough to have seen all the movies on the plane. Do yourself a favor and down load this and other books by Will you will thank me.” - Yoni Tidi
Read it, I think I left a review but will follow up.
