COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Ohio House Republicans have introduced a bill that would change concealed carry laws in the state.
House Bill 227 changes the name of a concealed handgun license to a concealed weapons license. If the bill were to pass, anyone over the age of 21 would be allowed to carry a concealed deadly weapon without a license.
Right now, those who have a concealed carry license are only allowed to carry a handgun.
Congrats to those in Ohio.
I like the elimination of the must notify part of it.
Hope the governor signs it when it hits his desk.
Between the greasy Michigan state police in uniform lobbyists and the dumbocrat governor, that won’t happen here in Michigan. Nothing pro gun moves unless the State police are for it or neutral.
Eliminating the stupid must notify would be a giant help here keeping the wound too tight idiots in uniform from freaking out when you tell them you have a carry permit and are carrying, even never mentioning the words gun, armed, weapon etc.
Back in the late '90s to early 2000’s in the Packing.org and AWBanSunset.com days, he was always one of our “frequent fliers” on the Bad Bill Pushing/Good Bill Killing “enemies list” right alongside his buddy Voinovich.
I’ve been taking advantage of SB215 and exclusively carrying concealed now. I used to exclusively open carry because at first, I was under 21, then I just didn’t want to get the permit (I’m a libertarian, I hate permit requirements). Now, I can walk into stores without an issue. Makes me happy and makes me proud to be an Ohioan.
Now, we just need to extend concealed carry to ALL deadly weapons and legalize loaded long guns in motor vehicles, then I’ll be completely happy.
