Off duty LEO engages multiple threats.

Great response by the officer engaging multiple threats but also a great reminder to carry every day as you never know when you’ll be forced to defend yourself or others from a deadly threat.

Police say one of the suspects was armed when they attempted to rob Marie’s Pizza in Rockford on Saturday. An off-duty officer, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputy Frank Pobjecky, was in the restaurant. He didn’t have a weapon himself, but he managed to grab a gun from the waistband of an employee and open fire. Pobjecky hit all four suspects, killing the youngest one, 16-year-old Michael Sago.

Full story here.

I’d like to hear more details about what happened with that.

Chalk that one up as a win, since we don’t always win. 2011 is a bad year for line-of-duty murders.

Good work, Officer Pobjecky. Enjoy the time off and go fishing or something.

That was the best article I could find. Using Google everything else I found is lacking even more detail.

It appears the officer was friends with the owners of the pizza joint. His buddy was the one with the available gun. It appears the buddy also helped in the fight.
