After months of slowly amassing parts, last night I was able to finally finish my first build. I’m happy to say that I (with some help) built this whole rifle. And we did it without an upper vice block (yeah it was kinda a pain in the ass, next time I’m getting one) The only real hiccup was the crush washer wasn’t right so it got a file taken to it.
Of course this site & others were a great source of information during the selection of parts & during the build itself

Looks fine. Except the whole unknown gun show BCG thing, not a smart move on your part. Mind if I ask how much the total came to?
LOL or break, or compensator, whatever they’re called. Took it out Saturday & put about 200 rounds through it. Of course with any first complete build I ran into an issue due to a rookie mistake on assembly. Had the gas block all the way back as far as it would go so it would eject the round but not pick up a new one. Adjusted it & it seemed to work fine with the PMC 62 gr 5.56 I was using. Once I ran out & switched to .223 reloads the bolt wouldn’t lock back on the empty magazine. Figure I might need to fuss around with the gas block a little more but I’m gonna put at least another 300 rounds through it before I go messing with it again.
It’s not a bad BCG. It was properly staked & the bolt was MP tested so I went with it. It’s probably the same basic one I would of got at the gun store.
Total cost on everything is about 1150
But I got the lower for my birthday, then the LPK, stock, buffer/tube, bad lever & sling looped end plate for xmas so Im into it a little over 800
