If so, that is a GOOD THING. We don’t want to bring them here for prosecuting under the Federal justice system which would automatically grant them the rights of a US citizen.
True, but that will fade. How long did the post-9/11 “go get 'em, boys!!” thing last? We went from people thinking we should feed terrorists to bears while they were alive to a bunch of people highly offended that they are being held at Gitmo with a Koran, prayer time, and all the Lucky Charms they can eat.
Politics, man…as soon as some wannabe law professor turned community organizer thinks he can make political hay out of it, shooting terrorists in the back of the head will become an affront to human rights on par with the evils perpetrated by countries who stone young girls to death for adultery.
As compromised as we are by the 5th column media and leftist psychopaths in this country, I think we’d be inundated by 24/7 news coverage of “hate crimes” against Muslims, people attributing the attack to “racism” and “Islamophobia” and the like. This may sound cynical, but seeing what we’ve elected, and how your average Joe Sixpack only knows what TV tells him, I shall remain cynical…
…and I would remind people that while there were still people on the ground bleeding from wounds they received during a shooting by a muslim extremist on an Army base, one of the top guys in the Army hoped in the press that “diversity” wouldn’t be a casualty of the event, too.
Again, this was a guy high up in our military…the organization that we rely on to kill people and to generally fuck up the lives and habitat of bad guys, an organization that is generally considerably more militant than your average guy on the street.
That doesn’t really bode well for our society making a habit of kinetic pacification of captured terrorists.
I don’t know wheather to be mad or sad or both. This is just F’ed up.
I doubt it… they will simply have to come out with a new/better excuse as to why not…
