I’d nominate Magpul.
Their continued new product development is a nice change to a sometime stagnant market.
I’d like to nominate LaRue Tactical. Their products are precise and of outstanding quality. Their customer service is the same.
I am torn between Magpul and VLTOR. Magpul has hit several home runs (PMAGS, CTR, UBR and Masada). VLTOR has really impressed me with their VIS and new flip up front sight. So for me, it is a tie.

I would go with all the above. All the companies listed so far have contributed a lot for us shooters. So it is only fair that we recognize them all as GTG.
That little follower is one of the greatest advancements towards AR-15 reliability since chrome lining.

I’m not an M&P convert yet, but S&W’s made some leaps and bounds in the pistol market with the M&P pistols, and I think it is interesting that a major house-hold name pistol manufacturer jumped into the AR market. Until that, the AR market was mostly companies that were focused on ARs, i.e., Bushmaster, Armalite, Rock River. Those just don’t have the brand recognition outside the AR world, like Colt and Smith and Wesson do. I don’t know that it makes them “Mfg. of the Year” but I do think it’s significant.
Magpul.
They literally blindsided everyone with the Masada. Add in the PMAG, and you’ve got a very note worthy bunch of guys dropping some incredibly innovative stuff on the market. The AR is a mutt in that it used all of the best features Eugene Stoner could find from past rifle designs. Now Magpul is doing the same thing (and adding their own well thought out developments) while everyone else is struggling to be even the tiniest bit different.
VLTOR.
Need I say more than “VIS”. By far the most logical monolithic upper receiver made. Add in the MUR, and you’ve got a company that’s doing things how they should have been done in the first place.
POF-USA.
I think all of the other gas piston companies should take a look at how POF does things. They have the best availability, Frank has really opened up the options, and they offer a 308 piston system.
I’ve used/use all that everyone has posted with no complaints. My fav’s that I currently love on my duty & fun rifles are:

I vote magpul, their company is really expanding and their new rifle looks awesome.

#1 Magpul - I agree w/ OLDS442GUY completely besides what he said I appreciate the time they spend with customers on the phone answering questions about whatever.
#2 Vltor tho’ I have no real reason to say Vltor yet other than a buffer tube I have my CTR on.
I have a VIS3 on the way that Grant has built me I should have it 5-8 and then I’ll have a reason I am sure of it. And if its as good as I imagine . . . OOOOH !
#3 Kimber … I have reconsidered SIG … just bought a 239 for my wife but my Kimber Custom Covert is so unexpectedly sweet. I did swap out the digital CT lasergrips for black Hogue panels. They were a bit much visually and the piece just handles and feels better around the front strap with out the Dev switch bulking it up.

As with the majority, I am going to say
#1 MagPul, hands down the winner, so many new products and I want everyone of them!
#2 Tango Down, for the chopped vertical grip, it just feels right!
