That’s “on paper” a cool idea there. Who makes it:
Betcha it’s REAL fun getting 'em all aligned and keeping 'em that way…
It comes as a sealed unit ready to use as I understand it. Not sure if it can be broken down for cleaning and such where that could be an issue.
I want to be in the room when someone tries to muscle it in to align it while holding it in their lap SNAP
Another solution looking for a problem. What was ever wrong with the SS Colt spring? Oh yeah. Nothing.
As dead as ‘new’ has been in the AR world ‘at least’ it’s something different.
Price isn’t far off from BCM’s MK2 recoil mitigation system. My first thought was weight reduction as a result of removing buffer and spring but since the maker isn’t bragging about lighter weight then I guess it isn’t. The maker is selling the magnetic buffer system and muzzle device combo which suggests any felt recoil reduction from the magnet system alone is bs. $150 yawn. After purchasing BCM’s recoil mitigation system a few years ago … yawn.
New version has both magnets and springs based on the video, so should please everyone. Not sure why this is better or worse but it’s $150, just sayin.
I’ve never understood folks going through great lengths to reduce recoil on an AR unless it is a competition gun. I remember the first time I shot one- I was in awe at how little it recoiled and how controllable it was. But, I grew up hunting deer shooting 3” buckshot loads out of a Stevens single shot 12 gauge.
The first time I fired an AR I heard Sprooooing. I don’t hear it often, but just once in a while.
Yea.
Maybe don’t try to fire 5 shots a second? That’s more a liability than necessary in SD and LE use anyway. ![]()
No it was in Basic, so I was pretty regulated in my shooting tempo.
10-4. Wasn’t directed at you, but at folks training for SD and LE in general. ![]()
From my limited observations at the rifle club, Average Joe usually doesn’t go further than a muzzle device and perhaps heavier buffer in an over gassed carbine in an effort smooth recoil impulses a bit. The super light carriers, buffers, gas reduction and tuning with light handholds are generally competitors’ rifles, though some guys just need a project to dick with.
My 14.5 ELW came with a comp mod 3 that doesn’t seem to comp much. BCM’s intermediate-length recoil mitigation system was equally ‘not much’. That said, I’ve seen reports from guys impressed with it and the A5. ho-hum…
