If I wanted a stainless barrel to have a more flat finish similar to parkerization, would it be worth the money to have it bead blasted or do they come out pretty flat anyway?
would like to know aswell…
Bead blasting (light) is part of the process of the QPQ. (Nitromet) Without oil on the barrel the finish is pretty flat but does have a bit of a shine. Take a look at the finished by going to our website www.wmdguns.com or our Facebook site WMD Guns.
Do you warranty the barrel (obviously manufactured by someone else) against warping or dimensional distortion due to the QPQ process which I’ve read is a tricky thing to get right?
We do! We coat thousand of barrels a month for OEM’s!!
That’s great to know and thanks for the quick response!
Who is recommended to remove the barrel extension before the nitride treatment?
We QPQ or NiB-X as one unit we never take the barrel extensions off.
Sorry for being so slow at times to forum questions!!! But we are so busy that we sometimes miss getting on M4. You can always give us a call 231-421-4867 if we do not answer a question or two…
