New Wilson Combat Pistol

Anyone seen one of those?

Just out!

I think they posted it on Glocktalk. What can be said really? There’s not much that can be done to a Glock clone that hasn’t already been done. Probably a nice pistol, but nothing extraordinary about it.

Not sure what makes it a Glock clone but it if it is, it’s a glock clone with a 1911 trigger and built to far higher tolerances than any Glock. It’s less $ than their other stuff, claimed to run dry and keep going, etc. I’m excited to see this new direction from Wilson.

Not that I need one, but it looks neat. Makes me think of the Walter PDP. I hope it gets market traction.

Not just a new approach from Wilson externally. Design of the internals:

Ah… maybe they did bring something extra to it. I never looked too closely at it after the caliber designation.

I’m so tired of new guns coming out in the same old caliber. There’s neat stuff out there, but in 9mm I have zero interest. Then “they’ll” add a ramjet comp to it because of the formidable recoil from the 9mm cartridge.

WTF happened to men in this country? (off my soap box)

The pistol that’s currently killing me is the PSA sale on the DD-9/HS-9 thing. $750 for the latest revision..

I’ve been fascinated with that gun since it was Hudson. But I know I’ll buy it and it’ll sit in the safe after a few shoots. I already have five 9mms gathering dust in the safe, and I have to force myself to bring one every few weeks to shoot a few “clips” through it. Then I have to finish the shoot with a hundred or so G22 or G35 carry gun practice rounds to cleans my “pallet”.

I only buy a gun these days because I think it will be used/makes sense to own. I got rid of safe queens a while ago as well as narrowed down to a few calibers that are the most common and easy to find. The Wilson is clearly intended as a serious duty use pistol to compete with others out there for a tad more $, but not crazy $. If I purchased one, and it was reliable, it would replace CCW and I’d sell the other one. Back up for primary CCW is currently HKVP9, my favorite double stack plastic wonder pistol.

My only issue with a pistol like this is that it’s too nice. If I buy one and like it, then I’m buying two, and then I have to buy all the supporting gear for it. But I’d still like to shoot one.

MArk, Why would they make a 40 short and weak when NO ONE is buying them? Specially in the CCW private sector?

I think it has some nice features, but it will never come out in .357sig. I also don’t think they will do a barrel length beyond 4.5 inch.

My pistols today .357 sig Glocks and Hi Powers.

Unless it sells really well, I would assume it’s a one and done design and offering in caliber, etc.

At least you switch from the 40, 357 sig is an animal of a round. I been using it more as a woods gun than 10MM. We only have black bear here.
