New TRP Operator back from SACS

Exactly 7 weeks ago I sent my TRP Operator to SACS for the following and I’m quite pleased with the results.

Flush cut and crown barrel.
Flush cut ‘FBI style’ slide stop.
Pin ejector.
Checker underneath trigger guard.
Undercut trigger guard.
Carry cuts.
Carry bevel. Plus custom bevel on bottom edge of slide similar to heavy machine chamfer.
Bevel grips.
Install 10-8 Performance rear. New tritium front.
Sight for 25 yard POA=POI.
Smith and Alexander arched mainspring magwell.
Bevel and polish magwell.
Round the rear frame corners.
Cerakote Graphite Black.

Standard for reference:

Now the good stuff. I’m no photographer and used my phone…

Damn that thing looks good.

Mmmmm sexy time for sure.

Snapped a couple more.

Dressed for a night out:

The grip corner looks off but it’s just the angle.

Looks amazing.

That’s awesome. How was their pricing? I have their price breakdown but I know it says that installing parts that aren’t their own can cost more than what they quote on the PDF. Did you find that to be true?

This is the only 1911 I would personally buy. How much is the base model btw?

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Hard to say since I only had them install the S&A magwell and 10-8 rear sight. To bevel and polish the magwell plus round the rear corners was only $65. If it was fitting a customer provided grip safety vs them fitting their own that may hold true. Overall I think their pricing is great. Everything, including sales tax since I’m in TX, plus round trip shipping was only $909.

I think I lucked out on mine, I paid $1,407 (after tax) for it including 3 EB, 2 WC, and 4 10-round CMC mags. Overall I’m in it $2,316, have 11 mags, and it’s exactly what I wanted so I’m okay with that.

That sounds like a great deal. Absolutely awesome looking 1911.

Badass! You got yourself a fine fine 1911.

i like it.
ive got a full rail that they replaced the whole top end on (bull barrel got wiggly after about 5k rds) and i had them flush cut the new barrel on it.

Great looking pistol, i’m sure it shoots just has good has it looks.

That’s something to be proud of right there. Really makes me want to get back into 1911s. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, guys!

It went back to SACS a week ago for a fix and a couple more changes. While there it’s getting a WC Ultralight Match short trigger installed and coated, 4 lb trigger job, and a WC Bullet Proof wide single side safety installed and coated.

PLUS another vote here for how Sweet she looks, turned out Awesome!

I’ve GOT to ask :secret: though,… what was the problem that she needed a Fix?

Peace Jeff

Thanks, Jeff!

I felt petty even bringing it up but did nevertheless, the logo located after “Springfield Armory” on the slide is only halfway visible. I tried to take the pictures in a way to minimize it but especially in person you notice it looks wrong. I don’t care if the logo is completely visible or totally gone but the half and half thing just kills me. I may just be being picky.

That would bother me too. Are they covering it?

I’m sure they will. They didn’t commit, only saying so far that they would look at it. Based on my previous interaction and their reputation I’m not worried.

Nice. You’ll have to post more pictures when it comes back.

Definitely, I’d feel the same way,… ALL or Nothing.

Wonderful You have a place to get work done and as you say, via previous interaction(s) and their reputation,… You really don’t have to concern yourself over it!

Looking forward to seeing the end results…

Peace Jeff
