I’m becoming interested in the R series scopes, but before I bite, I was wondering about the part of the description that says “External battery pack-compatible but not included”
Is there a specific external battery pack I should be looking at? Will that allow for a longer run time, or just for charging in the field?

Thanks

You can use any external battery pack to charge it in the field like the ones for charging cell phones, I use the 15,000 mAhr Anker when in the field for a couple of weeks.

This unit will last you a couple of weeks in the field…

It will not allow a longer run time as you do not use it while you are using the scope, you just use it for recharging the scope, this unit has a high output port for fast charging.

Excellent! Thank you very much.

If I recall Flir also makes the AN/Pas 28s for the Military, or at least the Marine Corps. I absolutely adored my Pas 28s, they were a bit bulky, but became a beloved piece of gear for our squad, especially at the Patrol base we staid at. Conventional wisdom said they had no place on a machine gun which my commands intent, but they were an awesome hand optic, especially on foggy nights on post. I really want a thermal now for hunting hogs on my uncle’s property, but I go and forth regarding the Xsight for night vision ( http://www.atncorp.com/x-sight-night-vision-rifle-scope-5-18x) or This Flir http://techeyes.com/flir-thermosight-rs32-1-25-5x-thermal-rifle-scope-rs32.html

The RS32 is a great scope. I have no knowledge of ATN products.
